Although X-Men First Class was at No. 4 last week in the US Box Office, it falls just 2 spots below in it's fourth week to enjoy it's No. 6 position with an additional $6 mil+ added to it's kitty!

It managed this despite the number of theaters screening the movie being reduced by 742 i.e. 2,633 cinemas. And now the total (domestic) gross for XFC is...(drum roll please)...$132,895,408! As of June 27 that number has gone to $133,754,373!

Here's where X-Men First Class stands at the current US Box Office:
1. Cars 2 $66,135,507
2. Bad Teacher $31,603,106
3. Green Lantern $18,028,056
4. Super 8 $12,028,092
5. Mr. Popper's Penguins $10,145,662
6. X-Men: First Class $6,680,480

Overseas, the movie has made $186,658,643 (as of June 27)! So as of June 27 XFC has netted a total gross of $320,413,016!! And with an (effective) budget of $140 mil this is a great profit for the franchise! Here's to more X-sequels!

Its funny to think that by the time the x men and green lantern movie showings stop in the theaters that first class would of have done better business than green lantern. Many thought first class was going to suck financially and critically. It looks like the table extremely turned on this one...completely.

Does anyone know what RR have to say about the green lantern flopping?

can't see x-men first class taking much more at the box office.

we've got the releases of tranformers 3,captain america & harry potter all coming the month of july.

worldwide takings for x-men first class $320,413,016.

the film to beat is pirates 4 $986,017,248,the films that may do that is tranformers 3 or harry potter 7 part 2.

It's not quite that rosey of a performance, but if it can pick up another $50m worldwide it should be able to safely earn a sequel. The list of lower $300m earners are filled with would-be franchises that never got a second film, while the upper $300s usually got a follow-up, unless their budgets were overly high.

It may bring a bunch more additional income from DVD/BluRay sales as well. There have been movies that have gotten sequels based almost solely on their performance outside of the theatres.

@billthebutcher it already has dude! Esp if you consider the budgets of both movies...I've mentioned the same for XFC in the article, but GL had a budget of $200 mil+ & their marketing gobbled ANOTHER $200 mil+! On a friggin $400 MIL+ the movie has just got (as of June 28) $93,210,001 in the US & (as of June 26) $29,400,000 so you could say roughly just a measly $120 MIL! And to think the fools were actually saying they're goin head with a sequel!

@marvel72 it will although not much of course...I feel it should be remaining in the top 10 for atleast a week or 2..And you can never compare XFC with a Pirates or HP! XFC had so many factors going against it & it still rose above it all...

@Chewtoy I'm sure Fox is already scrambling aorund trying to get a sequel to First Class or a sequel to the OG trilogy! lol I plan to put out an article on stuff like this on my blog. Once I do will post the link here but basically Lauren Shuler Donner has already said (before XFC's release) that if XFC did well, there'd definitely be 2 sequels to First Class & an XMen 4, 5 & 6 (continuing the OG trilogy)...My only hope is that the Vaughn-Singer team remain on at least most of these...

@KaneVonDoom more power to that! :D J
