Taking to Twitter to confirm his involvement, the producer revealed:

Grazer should have no issues with helping adapt the popular TV show to the big screen as he co-owns Imagine Entertainment with Ron Howard, the company that produced the long running series on Fox. Details about when filming will begin are currently unknown, but for now, expect to see 24: The Movie sometime in 2012 with Kiefer Sutherland back as Jack Bauer!

LivingPool: It's not based on a comic book, but has been adapted into that format a few times. :)

does this mean the movie will be 24 hours long? How epic would that be??

here is the math

60min x 24hrs = 1440 min

1140 min / 2.5 hour movie run time = 576 min per hour (jack bauer time)

576 min / 60 min per hour (movie req) = 9.6

SO every 9.6 mins will be one hour in a 2.5 hour long movie to simulate 24 full hours.

Of course my math could be wrong, i am kinda high right now *smoking some green monsters!

The show was awesome but ended badly. Needs a good R-RATED conclusion to wrap it up.

They'll probably get rid of that '24 hour' time clock since this is the end of it.

Kiefer was on Leno or Fallon about a month or so ago and confirmed that they would start shooting in January.

Because they will have to condense 24 hours into 2 hours, the clock will most likely count down from 24:00 to 00:00 to help the audience keep track and to build anticipation.
