Fox Publicist Shoots Down 24 Movie Start Date Rumor!

The star of the TV show 24, Kiefer Sutherland stated earlier that filming for the 24 movie could start later in the year, Going against rumors that the project was shelved. Now a FOX publicist is claiming that the movie is still in a troubled spot regardless to what Sutherland said.

The popular TV show 24 has been fighting to make its way onto the big screen for some time now. But News came saying that Fox passed on a movie script written by Billy Ray. But In an interview with EXTRA, 24 star Kiefer Sutherland was questioned about the recently shelved movie based of show. Kiefer went on to state that the film was going in a positive direction and even revealed a possible start for filming in December Or January.

Now The Hollywood Reporter have had a chat with a publicist from Fox Studios who has denied Sutherland's positive comments:

"Unfortunately, Kiefer is overly optimistic," the Fox publicist replied to a query from THR. "The project is still in development, with no director attached. All the other details have been reported."


So it looks like 24 The Movie is still just an idea at this point and may never find its way onto the silver screen. Check here for any updates on the progress.

Hmmm... Never watched the show, It's too late to get in the series now, but I'll watch a movie though.

Actually, I don't think it's too late at all. The series is already over so it'd be very easy to pick the 8 seasons up from Netflix or some other rental place and enjoy them. Or if you're a real die-hard, have a 24 marathon. Start on Sunday, and watch all 8 seasons until it's the next Monday!

'-Keifer is overly optimistic...'. I have no knowledge of the workings of TV land, but I would be pretty optimistic that a director could be found in the 10-12 gap that Sutherland mentions in the interview, plus the project development.
