LUKE CAGE And SHERLOCK Director Reportedly In The Running To Take The Helm Of JAMES BOND 25
We still don't know for sure who will play the iconic Ian Fleming creation in James Bond 25, but a new report may reveal who MGM is looking at to take the helm of the franchise from here onwards...
The status of James Bond 25 has been unclear for some time now, with Daniel Craig's involvement comepletly up in the air and a number of names - primarily Tom Hiddleston - rumoured to be taking over. There's also the issue of which studio will be releasing the movie, but regardless of what's next in that respect, IndieWire has revealed today that a director is currently being eyed for the project.
That is Sherlock, Victor Frankenstein, and Luke Cage director Paul McGuigan. James Bond franchise co-owners Eon Productions are reportedly so pleased with his upcoming movie Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool that he's now being considered to take over the next movie, news which probably shouldn't come as too huge a surprise considering the fact that he was once eyed to direct Casino Royale.
It's still early days for James Bond 25 and a lot can change in the coming weeks and months, but this is definitely an interesting candidate to take the helm of the movie. Sam Mendes was arguably an equally unconventional choice when he was chosen to direct Skyfall, but Spectre was a massive let down, so who knows is McGuigan would be a wise choice.
