"There's so many interesting possibilities out there," he tells ET. "Brad [Pitt] would be great. [George] Clooney would be great. Don't know who it's going to be just yet."

The ET site adds, "Johnny, whose maternal grandfather is Cherokee, wants to portray Native American Indians in a different light than traditional Hollywood films. 'Native Americans in cinema, over the past however many decades, have been treated somewhat shabbily,' he says to put it mildly. 'This one has plans to rectify that.'"

I think Depp could play anything really so any of those actors would be good.

GUNSMITH- Tom Jane would be amazing as the Lone Ranger I told my dad (who loves the Lone Ranger) your pick and he agreed 100%.

I see a big....big.....failure in the making. Hell, most of the kids don't even have an idea who the heck the Lone Ranger was. When is Hollywood going to realize cowboys movies are dead, well at least for the big screen.

Just because his grandfather was Cherokee doesn't justify that he should play the part of a Native American. I have as much Cherokee in me and I am proud of it, but cast an actual Native American like Eddie Spears or Adam Beach not a caucasian looking mix. I wonder how many would have been upset if they cast a caucasian for the role of Kato in the Green Hornet. Hmmm...

Pitt as the Ranger or Thomas Jane would be cool but I really want Pitt in the Role....

With all the excellent Native American actors out there it would be insulting to have a white man play such an iconic character.

Please, please, please! Follow the comic! It has been great and is very true to the mythos, but adds that essential grit.
