Mark Margolis Offers Details On His Role In Darren Aronofsky's NOAH
Frequent Darren Aronofsky collaborator Mark Margolis talks about reuniting with the director on the Biblical epic Noah (which is also based on Aronofsky's graphic novel), detailing his role as 'Samyaza' and sharing scenes with star Russell Crowe.
Speaking with Empire Online, Breaking Bad actor Mark Margolis talks about reuniting with Darren Aronofsky on his anticipated Biblical epic Noah that's also based on the Black Swan director's graphic novel. "I play a 12-foot god," Margolis told the site, "[and] most of my character will be created through CGI." The actor plays a fallen angel called 'Samyaza', who Empire describes as "leader of a posse of six-armed angels known as the 'Watchers'. They're a giant breed of angels who have been at odds with God since the Fall - 'Samyaza' is another name for Satan - and likely to be a source of trouble for the Almighty, and Russell Crowe's Noah too." Margolis then discusses filming all of his scenes with Crowe and playing a 12-foot CGI character. "All of my scenes are with Russell [Crowe], who I found to be a very funny guy. They used me and my voice, but they had a pole standing up from a backpack I was wearing, so that Russell had a sightline of a person 12 feet high. I hope that some of my facial movements are used in the final thing." What do you think of these comments?
Noah stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Ray Winstone and Sir Anthony Hopkins. The film is set to hit theaters March 28th, 2014.
