ROCKY VII? Sylvester Stallone Is Looking To Make A Rocky-Focused Sequel; Reveals Story Concept

While Creed and Creed II provided resurgence for the iconic Rocky Balboa saga, Sylvester Stallone is still up from more, planning a Rocky-centric sequel set apart from Adonis' story . . .

When Creed II hit theaters last year, many fans felt as though it was a perfect capper for the whole Rocky franchise. Rocky had reunited with his son, and Adonis had just met his firstborn, an ending which could have served as a very heartfelt close for the eight film series. But it seems as though Stallone has much more up his sleeve, and is already planning to meet up with his producers on a Rocky focused sequel.

In an interview with Variety, Stallone, who received an Oscar nomination for his turn in Creed, talked about his lack of ownership with the Rocky property. He went on to talk about his "timely" sequel, which focuses on Balboa and a new immigrant fighter. Here is how he described the sequel:

Rocky meets a young, angry person who got stuck in this country when he comes to see his sister. He takes him into his life, and unbelievable adventures begin, and they wind up south of the border. It’s very, very timely. . . Do you tell someone that you just met in the street who’s struggling and homeless to get out, or do you take him in? If you take him in, you’re in trouble.

He went on to say that the sequel has the potential to be fast-tracked.

Would you be down for another Rocky?

DAE remember that joke poster in Airplane 2, for Rocky XXXVIII? Did Stallone see that as a challenge?

@santoanderson - who would've thought Airplane 2 would end up being so prescient?

No! I love Stallone and the original Rocky is my all-time favorite movie, but his time on the spotlight is over. Creed was better than any of the other sequels and Creed 2 was also solid. I want to see more of those, not another Stallone vanity project.

I’d love to see Rocky and Donnie again, but Creed 2 closed off everyone’s character arcs so perfectly.

Maybe have Drago’s son take the place of the immigrant fighter? I feel like this story isn’t needed

Leaving well enough alone. Something Hollywood will never learn.

CREED 3 needs to happen to close the franchise. Not trying to be prejudice here but I think Creed needs to fight someone of his ethnic background. Someone that's fighting for something more than a name, someone that's Fighting for the "people". Clubber Lang's son could be someone to change creed in a psychological/mental way just as much as physical wise.

@TheRationalNerd - I rather not see the fighting the son story again. Creed finally came into his own in Creed II. We should fight someone else with a badass name.

Well, just make Creed III and a Drago spinoff.

I thought that he said he was done with the role after Creed II, even if they were to make another one
