Jupiter's Legacy is now streaming on Netflix, and while the show's "Volume 1" left us with some unanswered questions (which we're hoping will be addressed in a second season), there was something, in particular, that grabbed our attention. We are, of course, talking about the costumes!

Those were created by Costume Designer Lizz Wolf, and her previous credits include movies like The ExpendablesPacific Rim: Uprising, and Creed II

We'll share our full interview with you tomorrow, but in the meantime, we thought you'd like to check out this excerpt with Lizz talking in detail about the incredible Skyfox costume worn by Matt Lanter (The Clone Wars). One of the coolest designs in the entire series, we were curious whether the Costume Designer found a way to hint at George Hutchens' future as the world's greatest supervillain.

"I think the one thing about Skyfox is that he has an undeniable intense presence. Even if you just pulled him right off the page of the comic books, he’s irresistible, and he has a strong allure and is charismatic and captivating," she explains. "He has a cocksure, charming way about him, but one of the best things that infused all that and made him come alive is getting to know who George Hutchens is in 1929. He’s got this ridiculous gleam in his eye and a playfulness, and his clothing is impeccable. We made a lot of ties and there are clues. He’s wearing a mulberry coloured suit and he’s got a fox tie pin which is in every scene. There are little bits and pieces and clues about who he becomes. Part of who these people are when they become imbued with powers is extremely relevant to what happens to them as superheroes."

"One of the things in terms of Skyfox turning that around and recognising that wasn’t by giving clues away that he would become a supervillain because I think the reality is that if you’ve read the comic books, you know where the story is going," Lizz continued, elaborating on the importance of Skyfox's costume. "However, he has a very full life ahead of him, and the important thing is that we built that costume to really be a reflection of who he was and who he was going to become without travelling into the villain world. We put his equipment intentionally very low to provoke that confidence and coolness he has, and it was very much thought about as a gunslinger. He has this fractured fox emblem that really beams from every angle that’s a nod to his smile and charm. Then, the battle-scarred and pitted helmet that looks already very aged and like it’s been through an awful lot."

"When he initially dons the costume, it was really about making sure his penetrating gaze was able to touch you and you could see that there was a very complicated guy in there. In the end, he’s equal part superhero, supervillain, gunslinger, playboy, and prodigy, but he’s 100% a badass."

There were a lot of cool costumes in Jupiter's Legacy, but Skyfox is a standout. Lizz recently took to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes photos and video of Lanter suited up, showcasing the work that went into bringing this comic book character to life on the small screen.

Check those out below and made sure to head over to Instagram to give Lizz a follow

This isn't even a weekly series yet we've been getting more articles about it than invincible? I really don't get what the issue has been with that series. Did you guys think we didn't care for it? Is it because it's animated?

@Origame - maybe because it's animated and it's on Prime? Most likely just the former though. Same goes for Bad Batch, even when Mandalorian did have atleast a one weekly review/recap article

@Origame - It’s because they can’t acknowledge that Invincible successfully showcases what an evil Superman taking on the Justice League and attempting to enslave the world would look like…In contrast to, well you know 🤷‍♂️…

@bkmeijer - I definitely remember them talking about the boys, so it has to be because of it being animated.

With a few touches that suit would be great for Midnighter.
I would kill to see a live adaptation of The Authority or a solo with Midnighter.
He is the bad of the asses.

I thought all the costumes were pretty bad.

@Battabing - I think the costumes were one of the only things that looked good. The make up was horribly distracting, hardly even saw Skyfox's costume compared to the rest of them.

@Jaykay21 - Same. Thought the costumes were fine. The old people make up was horrid though.

I liked the designs of the suits in this show, but they didn't feel very distinct. They looked like the same suits with different colours. They looked mass produced.

The costume design was sold. Just wish the writing was stronger.

I really wanted to like this show but man it was difficult. I listened to the Weekly Planet guys talk about the comics as a primer, but no one really knew that the show would take the 30s storyline and stretch out the way they did. The conclusion of that 30s story is already spoiled if you just read a synopsis of the comic. But ironically, that was still the more interesting storyline because the modern day stuff was so boring and predictable. I ended up just spoiling the ending of the whole show because I wanted to know how it ended but didn’t care enough to finish it. Turns out I predicted the ending during the first episode. Hutch was definitely was bright point. But it’s just not enough to carry the show.

The period pieces of this show are the highlight to me, the rest it's pretty corny and meh.
