BEWARE THE BATMAN Will Not Return To Airwaves This Month

Are you ready for some new episodes of Beware The Batman? Well, Cartoon Network wants you to wait longer. Find out more about the show's hiatus within.

Back in October I reported that Beware The Batman had been abruptly pulled from Cartoon Network's schedule. Much like when Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series had been pulled a year prior, it was said that BTB would return in January. Well, January is here and such is not the case.

Cartoon Network has presented the folks at The World's Finest with their programming schedule for this month and Beware The Batman is still on indefinite hiatus. A Cartoon Network representative has told them that updates are forthcoming, but please don't take that as your cue to hold your breath. It's been known that CN doesn't exactly want dramatic cartoons like BTB around and instead prefers more comedic shows geared toward young boys like Teen Titans Go!, which is obviously still golden to them. BTB is still slated to finish the remaining fifteen episodes of Season One sometime this year, but placing bets on a swift cancellation soon afterward is unfortunately what you should do. (That is assuming there is high stakes betting on what animated television shows will or will not get cancelled.)

I wouldn't doubt it if a return comes in early February because the show gets its first DVD release next month in the form of Beware The Batman: Shadows of Gotham Season 1, Part 1 (pictured below). It's available February 18 and includes the eleven episodes that have aired, including two ones that have yet to air: "Attraction" and "Fall". Wouldn't it be something if the DVD shipped before they aired? I would really be surprised if the DVD set saw a delay.

I am know I am one of the minority on this site that actually enjoys this show. Oh well Cartoon Network sucks but this show is completely different than all the other Batman shows.

JoeMomma29: I love the show. And it's because it's NOT Batman: TAS that (most) people don't like it. It's cool to be contrarian.

@Joe

I loved the show as well, but as soon as I figured out it wasn't going to get the green light for a second season, I said to myself "why even get that involved with the show knowing that they're going to take it back down?"

Totally off subject but...

BRING BACK TRON: UPRISING Disney XD!!!! That show was phenomenal!!! Loved the strorytelling as well!!!

"And it's because it's NOT Batman: TAS that (most) people don't like it"

They lazily used CGI animation while trying to make it serious. The Brave and The Bold was ten times better, not only that it was based off an exiting comic book series within DC it was whole in a tribute to the Silver Age of comics. It was a show that was aware of what it was and was so much fun to watch. Every Batman show has a different tone and to compare Beware The Batman to TAS is like comparing apples and oranges. Beware The Batman totally missed the mark in my opinion. Yes it was a much different version but they didn't have to reinvent every single thing. It was missing the true classic Batman formula.

PsychoBatJacky: At least you make an argument that expresses your opinion well and I can respect that. You probably know that I'm referring to a group of people that don't like something for such a simple reason.

Is anyone surprised? Everyone wants another season of Young Justice. I tried watching the show. It was alright but I am not a fan of CGI cartoon shows. Why pay extra money to make a CGI cartoon show when traditional animation looks better and is cheaper to make.

That being said CGI aside I did enjoy the show. I liked how more unknown villains got to be given the spot light. Yes they may not be a bad as they are in the comics. But I still was happy to see villains that people don't know of other then comic book readers. So I was really happy that Beware the Batman went in that direction.

Plus after hearing Kevin Smith & Paul Dini talking about the reason that Young Justice got canceled was because females were watching Young Justice too. CN wanted it canceled because they only want guys watching the show.

Plus CN only wants the young children now. So that is why Teen Titans Go is still on. So because BTB is not childish it needed to be canceled.

Here is the link to the podcast that Kevin Smith and Paul Dini talk about the reason Young Justice got canceled. Plus even talks about CN wanting more childish shows.

I will say this Greg Weisman ha said the best way to tell CN and WB you want these shows still on is to go out and buy the DVDs and video games. So if you want more Young Justice go get the DVDs and the video game.

So if you want to let CN know you want more BTB you need to go buy the DVD set. Maybe if it sells really well CN will green light season two. Because it can't hurt much other then your wallet if you want to see more of this show.

So why not go out a support the show that way. Because at the end of the day money speaks and if CN sees BTB selling well they should bring out another season.

Hopefully this will give DC a wake up call and try focusing their efforts on trying to elevate their other characters into the mainstream.

And DC please move to a different network. CN sucks ass now.

Cartoon Network really sucks wanting more Kiddie shows. but this was explained why Ben 10 sucks now with me you stupid animation and storylines, which don't even really fit into the old stories. I still can't believe Generator Rex got cancelled. Ben 10, generator rex, Young Justice, Green Lantern are the reasons I watch Cartoon Network
