Could Animated Avengers Line-up Reveal Movie Team?

The Hong Kong Publishing Fair possibly reveals look at Avengers movie Line-up!

The Hong Kong Publishing Fair has an interesting promo image for The Super Hero Squad and the upcoming Earth's Mightiest Heroes! The Avengers animated show. The image as seen below, has pretty much the same line-up with an exception or two.

Could this be Marvel's way to go ahead and present the Avengers as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Wasp, and a couple of extra heroes as the "real" Avengers in anticipation of the movie?

Looks to me that they are trying pretty hard! You be the judge!

It's funny how the kiddy avengers are next to the awesome looking Avengers. God I hate all these kiddy versions of the Avengers. They are as threatening as a newborn kitten

This is kinda old news, but I'm still excited about the possibility of Ant-Man and Wasp in the movie. I don't think they'll include Black Panther until they introduce him with his own movie. Either way it'll rock hard!

I can't wait til this new Avengers Cartoon!
I like SuperHeroSquad. It's good for little kids who don't know the characters. It's a pretty smart move. It's Introducing them to young viewers so they'll be pumped when they come onto the big screen.

seriously, come on. the kiddy versions are for...you guessed it! KIDS. its a good way to get kids interested in marvel characters. "get them while they're young, and you have fans for life."

its not like the kiddy versions are replacing the adult versions. my god people complain about the dumbest things

the avengers series, i can see. but on super hero squad, the character rotate around, it isn't the same characters in every episode. it usually has iron man wolverine and hulk, but for the most part, everyone else rotates. i don't think you can really go by that.

but the avengers show looks like the lineup i would expect in the movie...minus black panther. oh, and antman should be giant man.

This has nothing to do with the film. If I know Chris Yost, he's doing his own thing in this show. There is no way that he would make this even be a slight tie in or anything. This is just a show that will be making huge viewer ratings around the time the film is released and maybe even keep the viewers......if it's good enough. I think that it will be great. I mean....CHRIS YOST!

@ jjmeylar

i don't think anyone is saying it will actually tie-in with the movies or anything like that. but i DO think there is a reason they chose to only use those characters. why hulk?? he's only been an avenger for a fraction of the time many others have been. why not hawkeye?? or vision? i think they went with these characters to help get some people familiar with them for when the movie comes out. and remember, this is a marvel production, so Marvel would be the ones to say what characters the show is about. Chris Yost didn't come up with this whole thing on his own. :)

no different than when they do this kind of thing in the comics. like spidey going back to his black suit in the comics when spidey 3 came out.

@ Corndogburgler: I hope that's the case because this is the lineup I really really want to see. Minus Tchalla who should have his own movie. But then again if BP was in it I wouldn't complain one bit!

Stuff like this is VERY encouraging to me

@ Keven: He takes some kind of jungle potion that grants him super agility and catlike senses. It's traditional for Wakandan kings.

Also there's his fighting skills. He is a highly skilled hand to hand combatant and the gear he makes using vibranium aint no joke either.

Not a very dramatic power but he's a major player anyway

I've been trying to figure out what kind of ant-man/wasp movie would appeal to me. And I cant think of a single story line or villain that's appealing for a solo movie for them. Then I realized, the best way to intro them would be in a Nick Fury movie. Think about it. Nick is pissed that Gen. Ross's guy, Bruce Banner, is closer to perfecting the super soldier serum than Fury's guy, Pym. Plus, he's pissed that Pym's been sleeping with his handler Janet Van Dyne. Maybe the wasp could be an accident and pym needs to take the a more perfected formula to save her. At some point Pym and Fury come to need eachother and by the end, while they still don't like eachother, they come to respect eachother. That way, fury can invite Hank and Janet onto his "new" team. You can easily use AIM or HYDRA as the antagonist, this way you don't need a solo villain like Iron Monger in iron man or the green goblin in spider-man.

@ darth

yeah man, i hope thats the lineup too. the trinity plus hank and jan. thats all thats needed for the first avengers movie. and hulk, but he doesn't NEED to be an avenger.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 2/5/2010, 9:19 AM
@ keven

black panther's powers are similar to Cap's. they aren't anything to write home about, but he's still a badass. the vibranium costume is probably the biggest thing.

@ bropous

i just don't get all the complaining about super hero squad looking all kiddy. it IS for kids. don't watch it if you don't like it, y'know? it has NO EFFECT whatsoever on anything else. its just a show for kids...thats it.

The Hulk was an original Avenger and therefor MUST be an Avenger in the first couple of episodes. I like the fact that this promo indicates that ALL original Avengers are in the line-up. It's about damned time that somebody finally got it right! I'm hoping the same goes for the feature film. If they want to add a few more characters on top of that, that's fine by me. Just don't subtract any.

My vote for additional Avengers would be Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and the Vison. The Black Panther really does nothing for me.

CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 2/5/2010, 10:59 AM
@ niknik

yeah, he should be there, but its not like it would make or break the movie if hulk wasn't an ACTUAL avenger. i wouldn't mind if Banner was working with them, but then the hulk goes on a rampage and the avengers have to stop him. (which is probably what will happen, whether its just a rage, or if he's being controlled)

niknik: I'm glad to see SOMEONE has the right idea here! I want to see the classic lineup myself. Vision should come along a little later, after we've seen Ultron.

The Black Panther is included here for the same reason that we saw John Stewart in JLU: so we have our "token black" character to give the group some "diversity", and so that the black kids in the audience have a hero they can identify with. I have no problem with this. At least BP can be useful, and he does have some history with the team. He also has a really cool costume.

So is there a network and air date for this Avengers cartoon yet?

Heard rumors of Mr. Eko from LOST getting thrown around as black panther in the avenger movie.
That would be sick

Makiveli21 - 2/5/2010, 12:14 PM
captain america, iron man, thor, hulk, hank pym, wasp, hawkeye. anymore or any less than that for the first movie would be... uncivilized.

Despite not appearing in the avengers line up that often I think the Hulk is included simply because he's recognizable and everyone knows who he is.

@ guardian

yeah man, aside from being a founding member, he's really not all that important. i mean, Cap is a WAY more important avenger than Hulk, but he's not even a founding member. but i'm happy hulk's there.

I realized something a few weeks ago while watching Disney XD...for awhile now on these boards there's been a lot of debate over whether or not the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's rights are held by Fox.

However, this CAN'T be true, as the first Avengers animated series, "United They Stand", came out in 1999 and prominently featured the Witch, while The first X-Men film came out in 2000 and was in production in '99!

Since the siblings were a part of the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, I'm sure they would've been used the first time around if Fox or Bryan Singer had any interest in them! So I want to put that one to rest for GOOD!! As near I can tell, we're a go to be able to feature the correct roster of Avengers in the order they originally appeared in the comics going forward!!

And Keven - to reiterate what CDB said - The Black Panther is more a black version of Cap as far as his powers are concerned! Their abilities and superhuman qualities are virtually identical!

The Black Panther is included here for the same reason that we saw John Stewart in JLU: so we have our "token black" character

Whatever! I am so sick of this coded racism. "TOKEN" which is another way of saying I don't want a minority on the team. Lets face it if it were FALCON..you would be saying the same thing. It could be War Machine..same thing. Photon same thing.

For the record: The Black panther cartoon is Marvelous.

Also if a black character cant join the AVENGERS now without a "Token" label. When can one?? Next year?? 15 years from now? how about 60? I think some readers will never be ready. Old Biases.

We have a black president and people still have a problem with a black character on an all white team. give me a break!

CorndogBurglar - 2/7/2010, 3:11 PM
@ excelsior

you have a point about BP being in the series just so they can fill the African America quota. but at the same time, BP has been an Avenger in the past. and an important Avenger. i'm not sure if you're calling me a racist or what, but i have no problem with black characters on teams. i actually like ALL those characters you just named. but they shouldn't be in the FIRST avengers movie. save them for sequels if they want.
McLovin
McLovin - 2/17/2010, 3:25 PM
@corndog - not trying to pick on you man, but you have to admit, this statement is sort of weird "I actually like ALL those characters you just named. but they shouldn't be in the FIRST avengers movie. save them for sequels if they want." "they" shouldn't be in the 1st Avengers movie. Save "them" for sequels. I bet that would sound weird if someone was saying that about the white characters. Falcon is a lame character, but Black Panther is a BAMF!!! He has a lot of similarities to Batman (no, not just the costume) in the sense that he only joined the Avengers to spy on them and learn their weaknesses in the event that they were not who they claimed to be. No reason why he could not be in the 1st Avengers and then get his own feature.
