Unlike the movies, it seems that The Guardians Of The Galaxy animated series is sticking to the comics when it comes to Star Lord's Father identity.

Since the debut of the Guardians Of The Galaxy animated series, many adult fans have expressed their anger towards the series for sticking too much to the guardians movie rather than use the source material which is of course the comics. Well, it seems things are changing as Marvel animation has announced , via USa Today, that Peter Quill's Father is none other that J'Son, King of Spartax.

The character will be played by veteran actor Jonathan Frakes, who is no stranger to the space genre (he played Captain's Piccard second in command in the Star Trek Generations TV Series).

J'son will appear in the March 13th Episode of Guardians of The Galaxy animated series which is the first episode of a significant story Arc.

Interesting. I haven't seen an episode but based on that picture the animation looks not great.

@TheManWithoutFear - It's a decent show with decent animation. I'd say give it a chance to decide if you like it or not. Though I will say it gets better after the first three episodes.

The show was called Star Trek The Next Generation, not Star Trek Generations.
