New Additions to Oobermind Cast

DreamWorks' animated superhero farce, Oobermind (formerly Master Mind), gains the voices of Brad Pitt, Will Ferrell and Jonah Hill.

DreamWorks is hoping that 2010 will be a better year. After a disappointing showing for Monsters vs. Aliens, its only 2009 release, DreamWorks is stacking the deck with three films in 2010, all in stereoscopic 3-D: Dragon, Shrek Forever After and Oobermind.

Oobermind tells the tale of a villain (Oobermind) who finally defeats his arch-enemy, the hero Metro Man, only to discover life is meaningless without the constant tête-à-tête, so he creates a new hero in Titan to replace him. However, when Titan decides it's better to be bad than good, Oobermind must switch sides and become a hero to defeat his progeny.

Originally offered to Robert Downey Jr., the role of Oobermind has now gone to Will Ferrell because of conflicts with Downey Jr.'s schedule. Other additions to the cast include Brad Pitt, who will voice Metro Man, the champion of good, with Jonah Hill voicing Titan. The trio of actors join Tina Fey, signed on to play a Lois Lane-esque character who reports on the city's superheroes.

Produced by Lara Breay and Denise Nolan Cascino, Oobermind is being directed by Tom McGrath and is scheduled for a fall 2010 release.

Oh, hell yeah, this looks good! I was hoping for a sequel to The Incredibles, but this will do!

Why is it okay for them to do an obvious rip-off of Superman and Lois Lane? I mean, c'mon, it's obvious! Speaking of that, Incredibles was a total rip-off of Fantastic Four.

The Incredibles may have taken elements from FF, but it was its own thing.

But, you're right, that Metro Man looks a lot like Supes in white!

Aw that sucks, Robert Downey Jr would have been awesome in it but nevermind, Will Ferrell is awesome too. And Id say Brad Pitt has a pretty small role in it because the movie is about the superhero being defeated at the beginning of the movie but it is cool Brad is in it. And Jonah Hill is great too.

The minute I read an article about a non-comic book movie I always wonder what role the actors could play in a comic book movie. So who could Will, Jonah, Brad and Tina play in a Marvel or DC movie? And before any of you say it, Brad is too old for Cap, maybe ten years ago he would have been great but not now. And I always wonder who would Robert Downey be good as in a DC movie? Maybe something so different from Iron Man that you might not recognise him

RDJ could play Aquaman, the surly, bearded version!

I thought THE INCREDIBLES was a rip off spoof type movie myself of FF lol! But still good though!

BRENT @ Now this does look cool! Very original, i probably will go an see this one, deff! (Apart from WALL-E, never watched GGI/ANIMATED movies at the flicks).

Infact this look friggin' sweet!

Cool stuff! Your turning me lol.

NATALIA @ WTF, RDJ AQUAMAN??? ??? Um ok! : D

Who the hell wants Will Ferrell in this? I sure don't. He's okay sometimes, but I feel he's becoming the Nicolas Cage of comedy.

and bijous, your not the only one who wants an Incredibles sequel, that would be awesome. I loved the Incredibles. I dont know why Pixar are making a sequel to one of their least successful movies, Cars but the Incredibles is one of their most successful but no sequel has been officially announced

@Natalia
Robert as Aquaman, well ok, it would be an interesting role to see Robert in lol Maybe he could do it as the black guy from Tropic Thunder

"I know who I am, Im the dude who is talking to fish dudes to help me fight another dude"

@longbow: Really? You hate Tina Fey? I don't think she's that funny, but I couldn't muster up enough energy to hate her.

I haven't seen MVA yet. Was it goog? It was a comic book first, right?

mva was a good and funny movie u should see it
Stumblin
Stumblin - 8/17/2009, 1:51 PM
Nat, I think that's the point really, they're supposed to be spoofs of the basic superheroes that the public recognize.
Bijous
Bijous - 8/17/2009, 2:01 PM
@Stumblin: I loved The Incredibles, but I get Nat's point. If you're going to make it a parody, why not parody the behaviors, circumstances, powers, but without making characters that look basically the same. Like, in The Incredibles, they mixed things up, but they were still basically the FF:

Mr. Incredible = Reed Richards + Ben Grimm
Elastigirl = Sue Storm + Reed Richards
Violet = Sue Storm (as a teenager)
Dash = Johnny Storm (blonde, rebellious) + the Flash
Jack-Jack = Johnny Storm + Martian Manhunter

Yeah Bijous I hate Tina Fey. The thing is not many people find her funny, but some how she still has a flourishing career. Who the hell is the puppet master behind Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon?

@ Bijous - Aquaman is the most useless character in existence!!! RDJ has better roles to fill than him!..

@ dancingmonkey08 - Toy Story was their most successful ;)

@ Minotauro
Oh yeah, I know Toy Story was their most successful, at least it got a sequel and another one is coming next year. Thats why I said in my last post The Incredibles was ONE of their most successful. I know its not the most successful compared to the awesome Toy Story!

Stumblin - 8/18/2009, 9:09 AM
Bijous I think you're pushing with the the Violet and Sue Storm (teen), I don't remember her ever being depressing.

But Superman is one of the most iconic well known superhero, and easily when a regular joe schmo is asked, "What do you think you think superhero?" They think a guy in a cape flying around shooting lasers and such A.K.A. Superman.

I mean look at Fleischer #1, looks just like Supes too, but it's also a parody. Drawn Together also did the same thing with Captain Hero.
