Remember the "Spawn" animated series on HBO? Well, if you don't or have never seen it, get thee to thy DVD store. It was nothing short of fantastic. It featured the unmistakable voice talent of Keith David and ran for three seasons before being canceled in 1999.

Now Spawn creator Todd McFarlane is planning on a toon resurgence foe the crispy faced anti-hero...

"For those that've asked, the SPAWN ANIMATED show will be back in Hollywood's face in 2010," McFarlane posted on Twitter. "Legal issues delayed it [the] past few years."

McFarlane also has his eyes on a "Wizard Of Oz" rem..seq..., oh here we go. He's making an OZ movie! As well as a possible live action outing for Spawn, albeit a very different take on the character. Let's hope he has time to be hands on with the new cartoon to ensure it's as faithful to the comics as the last incarnation.

Thanks to MTV for the news.
