According to a very interesting new report from The Wall Street Journal, Disney is planning to release all Fox movies that are complete or in production once the acquisition is complete and that obviously means that Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants will ultimately see the light of day. However, the most interesting thing about the site's report is Fox's current plans to revamp its animation department.
Apparently, Fox is looking to bring in a new partner to replace DreamWorks Animation after it was acquired by Comcast, and that's started with a collaboration with Fox's television studio for a big screen adaptation of Bob's Burgers. A second movie for The Simpsons is also in the works as is a Family Guy movie which will reportedly be a mixture of live-action and animation. How will that work?
We'll have to wait and see but on the small screen front, TV shows are being developed for Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Ice Age, and Night at the Museum. How Disney will feel about that remains to be seen, especially as there's no doubt plenty they could do with those franchises, especially in their theme parks. What do you guys think?
