Will the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes lead to the Marvel Civil War?

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes recently premiered the first episode of season 2. It appears the main villain of this season is going to be Dr. Doom, but is there a bigger underlying event besides that?

For those who are unfamiliar with the Marvel Civil War series, it is about the implementation and consequences of the Superhuman Registration Act, a legislative bill which required the mandatory registration of any person based in the United States with super powers. This separates the heroes into two camps: Iron Man being pro-registration and Captain America leading the anti-registration group.
Many other characters from the Marvel Universe such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Doctor Doom, Surtur, Thunderbolt Ross' Red Hulk form, and Guardians of the Galaxy have been confirmed to make appearances.

So what do you think will happen in this season? Please leave a comment below.

just episode 1 last night it was pretty good, very hyped for the skrull storyline.

it has elements of the kree/skrull war & secret invasion.

as for civil war,i think they could hold that off until season 3.

Personally I'd prefer if they waited until season 3, so they can concentrate on the Skrull storyline for season 2. Would be amazing to see Civil War come to life though.

Cap skull could ignite the thing by starting the invasion of Latveria, eventually starting the rebellion. This would have the heroes too busy fighting, or even killing each other, allowing the Skrulls to come and take over more easily after their first attempt in season two fails!

First off who's to say she's not a skrull herself? Intent on dividing the Avengers and all superheros and conquering the earth while they are fighting amongst themselves.

That said, I really enjoyed episode 1, not the greatest, but very good. I liked the nod to the Fantastic Four's previous series when Ironman asked about Dr. Doom sending the Baxter building into space. Ironman's remarks how Doom really hates Reed was fun as well, but the best was the segments where the Hulk suddenly attacked the Thing. Hulk really doesn't like the Thing and that has always been an ongoing thing in the comics and I really enjoyed the fact that they played up on that. Seeing Hulk use the Thing as a club against the Doombots was great and then when Hulk pushed the Thing out of the quinjet was really pure fun!

Worth the wait? Yes, but I hope the powers that be realize they are seriously hurting the show by delaying season 2 and changing the dates and times of when the show airs. I hope they don't do that anymore but I know they will. And because of that reason I am not as huge a fan as I was during season 1, now if I can catch it I will, if not, then it's no great loss. I really hope this show goes on for a very long time, the show itself is the best Marvel adaption for TV that has even been done, but the stupid powers that be that keep the show from airing when it should will be the death of it!

This show is probably one of Marvel's best even though the art isn't that great I still think it is very entertaining. I can't wait till the Skrull invasion and I really hope that they have Civil War sometime in the show.

I think that was a hint @ the start of the civil war story line..but Doom was clearly onto the skrull invasion...that's. all for now..maybe the kree skrull war krang spoke of..he said cap started it..buuut!.cap is a skrull.. sooo that makes perfect sense..skrull invasion..skrull/kree war

As I recall, the Secret Invasion story arc came after the Civil War, with the Skrulls using the confusion and chaos to replace earth heroes with their agents. Then they supported Starks 50 State Initiative(one team per state), thinning the superhero ranks making the invasion easier.

I hope they don't just jump into the invasion and stretch the story out a bit.
