Pixar has found its new writer for Toy Story 4 in Stephany Folsom.

Folsom will pen the script for the upcoming fourth installment of the long-running animated franchise, following the departure of Rashida Jones and her writing partner Will McCormack from Pixar due to "creative and philosophical differences" with the studio.

Toy Story 4 will actually serve as Folsom's first major writing credit. Despite having worked on Thor: Ragnarok, for which Marvel gave her "story by" credit for, the writers' guild actually denied her credit "due to guild regulations."

In 2013, Folsom appeared on The Black List for her original screenplay 1969: A Space Odyssey, or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon.

Toy Story 4 will release in theaters on June 21, 2019. It was originally pitched as a romantic comedy/love story with Woodu and Bo Beep.

Well that's some major BS on the part of the writer's guild. I don't understand how these things work, but that's not right. You either are a writer for a film or you aren't. And if you did help with the writing, you get a credit. At least Marvel tried to help her out...

They are writing a new script and the movie comes out next year?

@TheUnworthyThor - Yeah I'm pretty sure that date will change to 2020 because it usually takes a long while to get the effects done for these films.

Between Woody and Bo Beep? Is she closely related to Beep Bop? Or Bloop Blop?

No typo is safe in these here parts...

@connorblaze - It’s a love story between Bo Beep and Woodu, cousins to the original characters. They get introduced at Woody and Bo Peep’s wedding, then immediately get it on in the back of an RC truck.

Damnit, that last one made my eyes "leak" toward the end of the film! I'll have to watch this next one!

This is pretty much confirmation of a date change because they would not rush all the work that needs to be done for that release time frame. I'm thinking late 2020.

They should just cancel this film. It's looking to be like a disaster. I'm not planning to watch it. The third one was the best way to cap off this trilogy.
