Director Tim Story (Fantastic Four) has been hard at work on a faithful adaptation for Tom and Jerry. While the crew have been sounding very optimistic since the movie's announcement, it is hard to ignore the hurdles the film will have to make to get people on board. The GWW, who has had a great track record with production dates, is reporting that Tom and Jerry is eyeing a June 1, 2019 start. This would put the cartoon adaptation on pace for its 2021 release.
Casting for the female lead has reportedly begun as well, and the outlet reckons the studio has shown interest in Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Zoey Deutch (Why Him?) and Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi).
