DragonBall Movie Reboot Budget

DragonBall Movie Reboot Budget

The budget for the DragonBall Movie Reboot has been claimed to be $100,000,000. But then again it is coming from IMDB.

Ok, instead of removing the DragonBall Reboot listing (as Kazuaki Kiriya requested), IMDB decided to add more details to it. It is now claimed that this film will have an estimated budget of $100,000,000. Given that we already know this listing is fake, I would not take this new information into account. And seeing how Dragonball Evolution only had a budget that is 1/3 of that, it is clearly obvious if a DragonBall reboot was created they would not have high enough expectations to fund that much money.

It was reported sometime back that this listing is most likely a fake since Kazuaki Kiriya (supposed screenwriter) denied any involvement in this movie.

What a relief to hear that it's fake. I think Dragonball was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life.

IMBD is very unreliable. It's already confirmed that there won't be a Dragonball reboot! Remove the listing for crying out loud.

Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, Dragonball may be one of those things that is unfilmable. The first movie had decent actors (except Yamcha) and was written and directed poorly. I expect it to be at least another 10 years before someone thinks about making it again.

I agree with Protonite. That movie literally made me sick. It broke my heart to see how bad that movie was! The writing, the cast and story were all horrendous.

@SKOne: Dragonball is definitely "filmable". As a film major I have learned that if it can be imagined it can be created on screen. As long as you have the person with the right vision and the right amount of creativity, anything can be done. Even an anime like DBZ. It may not be easy, but it can be done. And I can guarantee you there will be a reboot that will be respectful to the source material that will be released within the next decade or so. ;)

@Juliez13: You're very much right. For example, The Matrix trilogy drew in heavy influences from the DBZ anime. Everyone was able to tell and look how well that worked. If they would just have the general public throw in a pitch and allow a year or so to sort through the material, I think Hollywood would find the right style to it.

Right now Hollywood is more about connections and star power. The skill and talent that used to drive it is declining. It's the reason why Nolan gets so much praise. Artistic minds like his ain't around much anymore. It's more about fraternal connections instead of talent. One day, maybe, the right adaptation can be done. We all know what needs to be done. It's just a matter of Fox doing it or giving up the rights before they truly turn into.. resident evil

I thought the same thing with the matrix. If they used that form of fighting in the movie, it would have been better. The third matrix, the last fight scene is what the live acton DB should have been. As it stands, what we got was quick, cheesy, flashy piece of crap. Im a fan of the show and I shut the movie off about half way. It can be done, you just cant take the anime and make it live action. Its to long and set in a completly unreal world(flying cars, animal people, pills that turn into cars). You have to change some aspects of the story and each saga to go live action. I wonder what the budget for DBE was?
