Keanu Reeves could play Spike Spiegel on Cowboy Bebop movie

My worst nightmares are coming true, not only is there going to be a Cowboy Bebop movie made by Fox, but Spike could most probably be played by Keeanu Reeves.

Checking one of my favorite sites at home, drinking some herbal tea and waiting for my chicken noodle soup to be ready so i can drink it and go to sleep, found one of my worst nightmares online.

The Cowboy Bebop movie is being put together by Erwin Stoff, a producer who, according to MTV has spent the last two decades working exclusively on Keanu Reeves projects. Keanu says he wants to play Spike, and that's just terrible. What's next Dakota Fanning playing Ed?



Will go to get my soup and go to bed, hopefully this is just a feverish dream.

No, still here. I hoped the flu was making me hallucinate and today it would be gone, just a bad dream, the only way to mildly salvage this is if it is directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, but that won't happen and it will probably end up directed by Uwe Boll, with Hale Berry as Faye, Robin Williams as Spike and Dakota Fanning as Ed. Will go back to bed, I really really hate Fox.

Sounds...Terrible. Not that I dislike Keanu Reeves all that much, he's done "decent" stuff from time to time. But, as Spike, NOOOOOO way. Bad choice. BAD FOX! DOWN! BAD BAD BAD!

A black girl as a hot asian chick
the most wooden actor in Hollywood as a charasmatic bounty hunter
and a little bratty hollywood kid as... well maybe that one will work but the rest is pure awful casting.

Fox seem to be getting worse and [frick]ing worse,
I mean look at Dragonball Evolution
now this.

ssjtom, I was just being sarcastic. Casting Keanu as Spike to me feels like those casting choices I said, not sure who will play what or if Uwe Boll will direct it, haven't found the slightest rumors of anything like that. I sure hope Fox is not that stupid, although after seeing what they did to dragonball, well... it could happen.

Just that it appears that Mr.Reeves wants to play Spike and the producer has been focusing on Reeves projects for the last 20 years. Would really really like it if Reeves didn't play Spike, although how things stand right now, he probably will.

omg Spike's gonna be all plain...I hope this movie will be any good, no matter who the actors. I mean the anime is a masterpiece and neautifully well done. But if Watanabe is not on this project at all, this project will most likely fail...

Though Keeanu isn't that bad of an actor and admittedly he isn't the most charasmatic, flamboyant actor, he has been pretty crazy in Bill & Ted.

BUT...

I loved the Cowboy Beebop Anime movie, it was TOTALLY kick ass.

and if done right. it could be at the most, a decent film.

but this is just too much, no way Keeanu could pull off Spike.

Keanu's not right to play Spike. They need someone else, PLEASE get someone else. Keanu is not the strongest actor although there are some parts he is good for, this is not one of them. Dammit FOX MOVIES!
