After the news of live action movies for acclaimed manga Akira and Ghost in the Shell, what's next on the list?

Why it's Bleach!

Yes, the popular alternative rock inspired shounen manga by Tite Kubo is getting a movie! The Hollywood Reporter... reports... that Peter Segal, who directed such popular comedies as 50 First Dates and Get Smart, is in talks to produce the film.

The story of Bleach follows young Ichigo Kurosaki, a badass teenage delinquent who isn't your AV-ER-AGE teenage delinquent! See, Ichigo can see ghosts! In fact most of his family can! But one day, a mysterious monster shows up in front of his house, in battle with a shinigami ("death god" in Japanese). When the shinigami is injured, she must transfer her powers to him, making him into a shinigami!

(Yeah it's basically Japanese Green lantern, just roll with it.)

Now, I know some people might find it weird, nevermind the adapting that'll be done, that the director of Get Smart and 50 First Dates is producing. But let's not forget, Jon Favreu directed Elf before he directed Iron man, and a Westernization could really just make it Dead Like Me meets Green Lantern, anyway! And that could be pretty cool! Oh, and you can BET I'll be making a fancasting!
