In its third weekend of release, Beauty and the Beast slipped to the #2 spot, but which new film took home first place? In a stunning win, Boss Baby beat initial expectations to earn $49 million domestically, while Ghost in the Shell came in third, with $19 million. Rounding out the top 5 were Power Rangers, with $14.5 million and Kong: Skull Island, which earned another $8.8 million.

While Boss Baby and Ghost in the Shell were making their debuts, Beauty and the Beast now totals $395.5 million across three weeks, while Power Rangers has earned $65.1 million in two weeks and King Kong has accrued $147.8 million in four weeks.

The international box office could tell a different story as North American audiences have become a little more discerning over the last few years as critic reviews and aggregate scores have returned to prominence. Stay locked into CBM for a box office report for worldwide totals.
