ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: Social Media Uproar Ensues As Fans Claim The Wasp's Suit Features Sexual Imagery

Ready for your daily dose of ridiculousness? Fans on Twitter are kicking off because they've noticed something a little off about The Wasp's costume and believe that it's deliberately sexual in nature!

When it was revealed that Evangeline Lilly would be suiting up as The Wasp in Marvel's Ant-Man sequel, the response was overwhelmingly positive. However, the internet being the internet means that people always have to complain about something and now the character's costume is coming under fire. Why? Well, it's being torn apart on social media for featuring some sexual imagery.

Well, perceived sexual imagery. The new still released by Disney gives us a proper look at Hope Van Dyne's suit but fans are tearing into it because if you look at it upside down, the middle portion appears to take on the appearance of a penis. In fairness, you can sort of see it and it is a little strange that it's essentially pointing down at The Wasp's crotch but to think it's a deliberate decision by Marvel and its team of concept artists is more than a little ridiculous and arguably makes zero sense.

Needless to say, Marvel won't be able to redesign the costume and this stage but it will be interesting seeing if it changes moving forward because of this. The phallic nature of the suit is making headlines but hasn't really hit mainstream media so it could end up flying under the radar and not really having much of an impact on the studio. Either way, it remains an issue for many comic book fans!

@blitzburgh - seriously, this world today is full of pissy little brats who have been allowed to act like this. Find something real to complain about like starvation in other countries or child and animal abuse.

@RocknRolla - If these feminists want something to cry "Opression". They should go the Middle East or some other third world country where women are actually oppressed.

@SonOfAGif - I don't think its prudes. I think its perverts. Seriously, I would never have caught the supposed phallic image had it not been the fact people have nothing but dick on the brain. Lol

If Evangeline Lilly is fine with it, than that should be enough for us.

I'm not going to dig through old posts, but I'm pretty sure a user on CBM.com pointed that out way back with the first released picture of The Wasp.

@SmokenOaken - Sounds about right to me...I honestly don't think any "SJW, FEMINAZI'S" would even pay it any mind.

One person isn't an uproar and screw the dumbasses that look for something to be upset about. The internet is available to billions of people. A handful or worse yet, one being upset about something is not worth reporting.
