"We're [still] deciding though," suggested Michael Peña when Collider asked today whether he's officially signed on for Marvel's Ant-Man. "I've been talking to Edgar [Wright] and I think that he's an amazing [director]... Hopefully things work out." The American Hustle actor is rumored to play the Ant-Man villain, an original character named Castillo who is supposedly appears at the beginning of the film and "plays a larger role as the film develops." Anyhow, Ant-Man so far stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Patrick Wilson with Evangeline Lilly also in talks. Under the working title Big Foot, the film is scheduled to shoot in May and release on July 17, 2015.

I hope he is cast. This movie is taking a turn for good to me. Hopefully they find a way to incorporate the younger Pym into he current timeline like someone said with the Time Gem, though doubtful.

The guy in the Comic he's gonna play was White. I'm not seeing this PC bullshite. Trying to appease Latinos by including them in a universal medium that a myriad of cultures from around the world have eagerly embraced is communism.

Pena is a great actor. Hope he comes on board Ant Man. @Kalisto Bane's background is never truly specified. He could possibly have been Hispanic. Hardy acknowledge that he studied Bane and his roots when researching the role. He could have been Spaniard, making him appear white as some spaniard a look white or he oils have been any number of South American backgrounds as some of them look white as well.

He was great in Shooter. Hope he's in it.

And @dumbass

He's playing an original character that happens to share a name with a comic character. Did you read the article?

The film seems like it's shaping up to be the red-headed stepchild of the rest of the MCU.

@ Merc
Saw your avatar and swung over to Hall of Shame. That sucks. Hopefully they let her back on. Hell, if Gusto can get back on, she should be able to.

Pena deserves this. I loved him in End of Watch, and his scenes were the best parts about Crash, IMO. Those scenes with his daughter...

Also, he was pretty hilarious in American Hustle.

I'm pretty sure kalisto2010 was being hyperbolously sarcastic there. And yeah, I just made up the word hyperbolously. It's my gift to all. Use it in good health.

I hope he is cast in the movie. It was rumored the part he was in talks for was a supervillain that Hank Pym fought in the 60's.

He's an awesome, versatile and talented actor. He has the range and gravitas to bring any MCU role to life.

This is Marvel once again choosing substance over a headliner.
