The ANT-MAN Cameo you may have missed.

The ANT-MAN Cameo you may have missed.

In a nod to the actor who may have been the first live action Ant-Man. Here’s a cameo that may have slipped by you.

Why was Garret Morris at the Ant-Man Premiere earlier this month, and right about now many of you are asking who is Garret Morris?

While you can currently see him in the role of Earl on the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls, Morris is best known as part of the original cast of Saturday Night Live.

In the classic 1979 Saturday Night Live sketch "Superhero Party," That week’s guest host  Superman: The Movie's Margot Kidder reprised her role as Lois Lane, staring  opposite Bill Murray as Superman, Jane Curtin as Lana Lang, John Belushi as The Incredible Hulk ,Dan Aykroyd  as The Flash, and Garrett Morris as Ant-Man.  The very funny parody of both DC and Marvel Heroes takes a few swipes at the Ant-Man. The clip can be viewed below.

Now those of you who have seen Ant-Man may recognize Morris from his cameo as a cab driver, and considering the movie’s comedic tone and occasional jabs at it hero’s name his inclusion probably isn’t a coincidence. While the cameo may not be as recognizable as Lou Ferrigno in the Incredible Hulk, it’s still a nice easter egg, and a nod to what may have been the first live-action appearance Ant-Man.

On a side note John Belushi kills it in the sketch.  Let me know what you think, comment in the usual place.

Ant-Man in theaters now.

Seeing the movie made me wish more that they should've waited for Ultron to show up, Micheal Douglas would've killed it as the creator, damn what a missed opportunity

"John Belushi kills it in the sketch."

Then kills himself.

Too soon?

I totally did not see Morris's cameo coming. Even funnier, I made the connection immediately.

I plan to use Morris as the voice of Skyppi the Skrull in my "Avengers Legends: Hercules" fancast, based on the 1980's "Prince of Power" miniseries by, ironically enough, Scott Lang's co-creator Bob Layton.
