AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Deleted Scenes And Special Features Revealed

We've been watching snippets of footage from the Avengers: Age of Ultron for weeks, but the full list of special features has now been revealed, and...well, it's pretty underwhelming. There are only four deleted scenes and a handful of featurettes. Read on for details...

There's been a lot of talk about a Director's Cut of Avengers: Age of Ultron, but we've known for a while now that one wouldn't be included on the Blu-ray release. Unfortunately, those of you hoping for a long list of deleted scenes will be very disappointed as they primarily seem to be most extended ones. With any luck, "The Norn Cave" will include Tom Hiddleston's cut cameo as Loki, because these really aren't that exciting otherwise! The featurettes meanwhile all seem pretty standard, with no real surprises there. Check out the full list below courtesy of Stitch Kingdom

Never-Before-Seen Deleted/Extended Scenes (with optional Audio Commentary by Joss Whedon)
  • The Man in the Church (1:06)
  • Watch Your Six (2:40)
  • Bruce and Natasha Talk (4:08)
  • The Norn Cave (3:29)
Special Features
  • From the Inside Out: Making of Avengers: Age of Ultron (20:00)
  • The Infinite Six (7:07)
  • Gag Reel (3:26)
  • Audio Commentary
Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson and hits DVD and Blu-ray this year.

I'm guessing "The Man in the Church" is an extension of the scene where the Twins first meet Ultron in Sokovia. It makes sense that "The Norn Cave" is as long as 3 and a half minutes (I'm sure that goes a LONG way towards making that scene make a lot more sense), but I'm surprised a deleted Bruce and Natasha scene is up to 4 minutes long. Wonder what that's about.

Definitely

"The Man in the Church watches Bruce and Natasha in the Norn Cave"

I see where this is going

Adding in the deleted church and cave footage would go a long way to repairing some of my biggest problems with the film. Seriously, they couldn't have added 10 more minutes to the film? It needed them.

That said, on this site at least, I feel alone really liking Age of Ultron.

I do not know what I loved the most, Age of ultron, Ant-Man or Kingsman the secret service. The 3 movies rocked like Foo Fighters!!!

The best scenes for me in AOU were Thor's 'journey.' I read that Whedon and Marvel feuded over leaving more of those scenes in and Joss lost. Too bad. They really rounded the edges over what this entire 'Avenger's journey' is all about.

I think Marvel was skirred that leaving the scenes in would've led critics to compare it to IM2 in that it was nothing but a big 'set up' movie but I disagree.

The Foo Fighters? Ugh...Dave Grohl needs to go away.

THE NORN CAVE is a waaaaay better scene than what we got. It's steeped in Norse mythology, from what I've read of scene descriptions on other sites. It makes Thor's visions make more sense. In the scene he's unwillingly possesed by the Norn, Norse beings who can see the future. Selvig then asks the possessed Thor questions about what's to come. I heard that there's allusions to ragnarok and how Thor's absence from asgard has left the kingdom in ruin

for an enthusiastic amateur your designs are great. You should go Pro some day man.

I have one or two sketches I did myself but I am an ass when dealing with how to post my own pictures. I know how to post images from other websites but I do not know how to post picture that I have only on my computer.

Is there a way to do that? to post an image from my laptop? I understand that some time ago one could create a gallery and upload pictures and then post them but now that is not possible. Can any of you folks help me with that?

Beyond my dislike of how they handled Ultron, I think this film tried to set up too many things while also trying to tell its own story. It might have worked had they given AOU a longer runtime, but I think it should have settled for telling a more fleshed out Ultron story, while choosing only ONE of the Phase 3 films to set up (preferably Ragnarok, not Civil War and Black Panther).

That said, I do hope Ragnarok redeems the Thor franchise. I genuinely enjoyed the first film for what it was, but the second was simply boring. Ragnarok needs to be as epic as a Thor film could possibly be, but most importantly without feeling the need to set up Infinity War.

If I ever figure out how to do it haha I will man. And will let you know as I would like some advice from artists like you and I guess there are others on this site.

Also Dave Grohl IS Foo fighters!!! he is what Bono is to U2!

If we can release deleted scenes then why not release a directors cut??
TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 9/2/2015, 10:48 AM
And that goes for any movie in general.

@SauronsBANE

If what you're saying is true then I would be completely happy with that because the twins joining Ultron in the first place made ZERO sense.

This is my favorite MCU film so far. I get a couple of the complaints, but they just don't bother me. What I don't get is the hate the whole Norn cave scene that we got receives. As a fan of the character from the book, it shouldn't be hard for you to figure it out for yourself. Magic, prophecy, all that has to do with Thor. It's all foreshadowing what's to come for Thor in Ragnarok. Why is it hard to understand that if they had showed too much, could cause a problem down the line since Ragnarok isn't even finished yet. The whole thing is an Easter egg. It's why Thor left Earth to go back to Asgard. It's why Thor sided with Ironman with Visions birth. You have already received a payoff from the scene. And your going to get more. Well we better. If not then your all right. But, you can't predict the future so why can't you be patient? I just don't get it. I know exactly what's going on there. Even without knowing about the Norns that were cut I could still use my imagination. The only ones that should be so confused is the general audience cause they just don't get the characters as well as we do. And yes I am aware that Marvel goofed with the marketing by showing too much in the trailer that wasn't in the film. That was stupid. But the film itself is solid. In my opinion.

The Bruce and Nat scene is Bruce telling Nat that he can't run away with her and Nat saying that she could never love him and that she was only doing all of this to control the Hulk. Read it on the net a while back. It's more of an alternate scene.

SauronsBANE - 9/2/2015, 10:58 AM
@TheOracularNerd I'll be happy with an extended scene too, but it still made sense to me as-is. I looked at it as more of a "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" type of thing. Ultron knew about why the Twins would hate Stark and the Avengers in general, and he used that to manipulate them to come over to his side. Maybe it could've been fleshed out a bit more, but I didn't have any problems with it.

I was ok with the Bruce and Natasha plotline. Cause they didn't take it too far. They simply took comfort in each others company. But now that he's gone, who do you think will be on his mind again? It better be Betty. With General Ross in Civil War, hopefully Betty comes back into the picture in a film down the road too.

I imagine Bruce and Natasha Talk will be the scene where Bruce turns her down. Whedon said Marvel wouldn't let him keep that in.

"The Man in the Church"

LOST is part of the MCU?!?!?!

Big, if true!

(Seriously though, now I wish Hurley was Foggy on Daredevil. Partly because I like Jorge Garcia, I think the character is in his acting range and as much as I liked the Mighty Ducks, I feel like Foggy is an obvious weak link of an otherwise solid cast.)

I believe Phase 3 is setting Thor up in a big way. All the heroes on Earth fighting each other, while he's trying to save the Nine Realms. He will come back to Earth and rally the Avengers. HE will be the first Avenger to yell AVENGERS ASSEMBLE on camera. He's gonna realize his true potential once Odins dead.

This film needed more quicksilver and less Bruce - Natasha romance, plus i want the scene of ultron being formed from molten metal like what we saw in one of the early trailers
