Elizabeth Olsen In Final Talks To Play 'The Scarlet Witch' In THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Following rumours that Marvel Studios were keen on her taking on the role, it has now been confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen is indeed in the "final stages" of signing a deal to play The Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon's sequel to The Avengers. Read on for details!

While Bradley Cooper has seemingly just started discussing the possibility of voicing Rocket Racoon in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, The Hollywood Reporter has now confirmed another recent Marvel rumour; that Oldboy and Godzilla star Elizabeth Olsen is being lined up to play The Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. While we recently heard that the studio were interested in the actress, the trade reveals that, "Sources familiar with the deals say that Olsen’s dealmaking is further along than Cooper’s, which is just beginning," and that "multiple sources" have confirmed that she's closing in on a deal to play the character in the highly anticipated sequel. Should she choose to sign on the dotted line (which now looks extremely likely) she will be reunited with her Godzilla co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the British actor is said to be the frontrunner for the role of Quicksilver and talked passionately about the character at Comic-Con recently.

She's an awesome an actress get her a good dialect coach and were all good. Also since she's got a working relationship with Marvel's top choice for Quicksilver they should be able to portray brother and sister it more easily. Well I guess we'll only know that after Godzilla

I forgot, but didn't Marvel say, in another article on here, that if she's to be casted (and it looks like she will) as SW she'd had to have a European accent? Just curious 'cause I know I read that somewhere.

Seriously if a actor puts some effort in with a dialect coach accents aren't problem, and she seems the type who gives a shit about the roles she's playing.

@M79 - Maybe a 5 picture deal with Marvel. First one, of course, is A: AoU. Second and third would probably be supporting roles in whatever other Marvel film Marvel Studios develops/produces, and the last two may be cameo roles. But, hell, I may be wrong. She may get bigger roles than that. All in all, this girl's got quite the future for her.

Funny how people say "never heard of her" and so somehow that's her fault or she's going to suck. Wrong, that's your problem for not watching good indie movies. First of all, she's the Olsen Twins younger sister, heard of them haven't you? But more importantly, she was incredible in "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and will probably be amazing in "Oldboy" & "Avengers 2"!

I think Elizabeth is a good choice for the role of Scarlett Witch. I love the facty they're not going with the biggest name, or biggest tits they could find. Acting is the important part. And her titties may be itty-bitty, but...DAMN...

Elizabeth is one of the greatest young actresses out there, they'll be very lucky to have her.

Saoirse Ronan looks more like she can be Aaron Johnson's sister but if they really couldn't get her then Liz is the next best choice.
