VIDEO GAMES: Iron Man's 'Hulkbuster' Invades GRAND THEFT AUTO V In Amazing Mod

After some major flops courtesy of SEGA, Marvel no longer release video game tie-ins. Thankfully, one very clever fan has found a way of adding the Hulkbuster armour to Grand Theft Auto V, meaning you can easily relive the epic destruction of Avengers: Age of Ultron...

Now that Grand Theft Auto V is on PC, gamers are doing all sorts of crazy things with the game. However, no doubt one of the best is this mod which allows players to play as Iron Man in his Hulkbuster armour. Pointless? Sort of, but it will do until Marvel finally get around to releasing a proper video game featuring their heroes and villains! What do you think? Let us know below!

Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson and hits DVD and Blu-ray this year.

@JoshWilding also, and you might like to add this in but up to you, the same guy is working on a GTA V Hulk mod. He also did Hulk and Spidey mods for GTA IV so we might get a Spidey one too :D

Melkaticox it's basically a pop culture website. I hate josh as much as the next guy but hes in the right to post about this.

As far as the mod I like it. OP mods make postgame amazing. Imagine a world where the MCU and GTA universe are one. DCEU is basically GTA though with superman snapping necks and all

I do believe that Disney/Marvel have got some games in the oven after they unceremoniously shut down all development and support for so much of the preexisting Marvel and Star Wars stuff.

But even if I'm right, it'll probably be a good two or three years from now before we get anything worthwhile. If Disney has any business sense, they've built an in-house studio to develop a Spider-Man pseudo-tie in game to coincide with Holland's film, since it will allow them to cash in on a film while they still have to share the box office pie with Sony. Even the Beenox games were promising enough if they could be trusted with development assuming they had a bit more time and maybe a bit bigger of a team.

Maybe we're a long way off from some truly great Avengers AAA bliss, but there's no way they are sitting there watching WB make bank on the Arkham games and not thinking about how to do the same with Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man, all of which have obvious solo game potential.

I'd really like to see something like this for Fallout 4. Even build it yourself. That would be so fun.

@0megaDaGr0dd - "This just makes me sad about the total lack of good Marvel games lately"

Lately?? Well, it was a joke, but after some thought I realized the last good Marvel games I can think of were the open-world Spider-Man 2 & 3 based on the movies. The open-world format is perfect for Spidey games and should be a requirement for all Spider-Man games!! I mean who wants to play a Spidey games that doesn't give you the freedom to web-sling throughout NYC?!? You shouldn't be hand-cuffed to the games main story with limited freedom to roam and forced to play the game a certain. I'd rather explore NYC from Spider-Man's perspective, stop criminals in action and progress the main story when I feel like it. Plus, doing the side-missions and exploring helped you upgrade Spider-Man's fighting abilities and unlocks new fighting/web-slinging movements, so you're more badass when you decide to advance the main story.

Anyway, got a little sidetracked there. There's no reason Disney can't make good-great Marvel video games. I mean they own Lucasarts, thru which EA is developing their Star Wars games, so they could expand their deal with EA to include Marvel licenses too. Disney Interactive Studios could take on Marvel video games. Or they have a long working relationship with Activision and they could work out a deal to make more Marvel games. Unfortunately, for whatever reason(s) Marvel video games aren't a priority or interest for Disney. I realize Thor, Hulk & to some extent Iron Man could be a challenge to find the best way translate their powers into a quality video game, much like a good Superman video game is considered one of the toughest video games to get right. However, there's plenty more characters on the Marvel roster, I'm sure if they really wanted to they could make one work. Captain America is the perfect candidate! I see no reason why they couldn't make a good-great Cap game similar to the Batman Arkham games with some military combat/strategy elements mixed in. Cap can't grappling hook and glide long distances, but he can use his bike to travel long distances or he could climb buildings and use a variation of Batman's line launcher from the Arkham games to travel across rooftops. Hell, Daredevil and Panther would be great for an Arkham style game.

There's so many directions they could go with characters and games playing style/format, but they don't seem interested/willing to pursue any of them. Maybe one day, I guess. It's mindbottling why they haven't really attempted to make games outside of Spider-Man. So many possibilities. What a waste. And speaking of a waste, I wasted too much time rambling nonsense about all this. What a loser!!

Beenox should not be allowed to make spider-man games. Please give the rights to someone capable like ubi soft or Bethesda(even though I doubt they wil)

@CaptainAmerica31

The first Amazing Spider-Man game was actually pretty decent and most people like Shattered Dimensions pretty well. Both were good at what they were trying to accomplish, which was a solid and relatively restrained game. And I would even say that (gameplay wise) either were as good as Arkham Asylum.

Where Beenox has failed is in tackling truly ambitious and dense open worlds which are satisfying to explore, which is what Rocksteady excelled at with Arkham City.

As far as I can tell, it seems like the difference is in resources and inventiveness, but not in actual capability. If you gave Beenox the mandate to create a full scale NYC with fun phsyics-based web-swinging, and a combat system based on TASM (which was based on Arkham), and gave them a three year dev cycle, I think you'd end up with a great game. Maybe not something on the level of the revelation that was Arkham City, but something every bit as playable and enjoyable.

Keep in mind, they put out Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, and TASM in three consecutive years (2010, 2011, and 2012), and Edge of Time clearly suffered from resources going to next year's bigger tie-in. To be able to put out two decent games and one bad game in 3 years, as opposed to the much more forgiving dev cycle for Rockstar or other AAA studios suggests to me they are capable of doing much better.

And Bethesda? When has Bethesda ever demonstrated that they're capable of even doing smooth character animations? Their flagship titles are clunky RPGs and first-person-shooters, not action-adventure beat-em-up or anything that would lend itself toward a Marvel property.

If I had a magic lamp right here (and the genie restricted me to making wishes about comic book media), I'd seriously consider having Disney buy Take-Two (and thus Rockstar), because nobody does the open world better, and superhero games live or die by the world and mechanics.
