At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange was among the heroes who turned into dust after Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out half the universe. Since then, theories have swirled about what comes next for the hero and whether his visit to those various outcomes meant he knew more than he was letting on and that the Mad Titan will ultimately fall.
Confirming that he'll return for Avengers 4, the British actor shed some light on what he made of the movie's screenplay and it sounds like something really special. "I was thrilled. Thrilled, thrilled, thrilled and thrilled with the pitch for the second film. And thrilled by the ingenuity of the whole thing. And to be in an audience and experience that was something else. I’ve been part of Sherlock, with a very famous cliffhanger. It’s a very brave thing for movies that are that big, bold and colourful."
So, he doesn't give anything away about the movie but that was to be expected really. However, the signs are definitely pointing to Avengers 4 taking us to some unexpected places and delivering an adventure for Earth's Mightiest Heroes like no other. What role Doctor Strange will play in that remains to be seen but we have less than a year to go before finding out! Are you guys excited for May 2019?
