Speculation is running rampant that Chris Evans' Captain America will meet his maker in
Avengers: Endgame and, at this point, it almost feels too obvious for that to happen! For what it's worth, the actor is having fun with it, and in a new interview with
The Hollywood Reporter, he weighed in on what fans can expect from the Marvel Studios movie.
"It's a good one," Evans teases. "It's a real good one. I saw, like, the first hour of it."
After the trade joked about the possible demise of Steve Rogers, he responded: "Right, exactly. After I die by Tony's hand, I just said, 'You know what? I can't watch this.' It's hard. Seeing my own death. It's going to be a long movie, that's for sure. The first edit clocked in over three hours. My funeral's like an hour."
It goes without saying that he's kidding! Evans did, however, reveal that he "choked up like three times" while watching Avengers: Endgame, and when talk turned to the trailers, he was clearly surprised by some the scenes Marvel included.
"I can't believe they even cut together a trailer, because so much of it is a visual spoiler. You'll see. A lot of the characters have..." He then stopped before saying, "Probably shouldn't have said that." Take that as you will, but we wouldn't be at all surprised if it has something to do with the white suits Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been shown wearing!
