AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Has Now Become The UK's Biggest Superhero Movie Of All Time
Over the weekend, Avengers: Infinity War officially became the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time globally, but it's also crossed another record off the list in the United Kingdom. Check it out.
After just three weeks on release, Avengers: Infinity War has already become the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time - but the accolades won't be stopping there.
While the Marvel epic still has a ways to go before it dethrones Black Panther ($696 million) as the highest-grossing CBM in North America, the latest numbers indicate that it has become the biggest superhero movie in UK box office history. The Russo Brothers-helmed ensemble has now taken in £60 million, beating previous record-holder The Dark Knight Rises, which made £56.3 million back in 2012.
Though Infinity War hasn't come up against much competition since it hit theaters, that will change when both Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story open later this month, so we may see a significant enough dip in earnings.
Will it manage to become the first summer blockbuster to amass a whopping $2 billion? We'll just have to wait and see.
