None of this remotely sounds like Thanos other than the idea of him being deformed. Aspects stated here even seem to contradict what we are told by Nebula and Gamora in prior movies, they even contradict Thanos's actions in prior films. Hopefully it is a cover-up to hide his true intentions, because this motivation is the motivation of parody movies and not remotely intelligent;

Thanos stole children, killing their families in-front of them. The 'Children Of Thanos' are the sole survivors from their entire race, races that Thanos wiped out in-front of them. He then forced them to fight each other multiple times every day for his amusement, the loser would have pieces ripped from them while they were still alive - maybe an arm, maybe an eye. Nebula and Proxima Midnight demonstrate this.

This is the dumbest thing i have ever read. It's the same plot as the parody villain in Kingsman; 'Kill a percentage of mankind who are causing issues due to overcrowding to prevent other issues such as global warming'

In Kingsman it sort of makes sense given how it is portrayed, Earth is not expanding into space, they dont have any more room - so it's somewhat justified that they would need to find a method to limit population.

In the MCU however they are trying to apply this to a universal scale, and it does not work. It makes no sense in the slightest when used in a universal perspective - a majority of the planets that we have seen in the MCU are uninhabited, dead worlds that are completely empty due to beings like Hive, Thanos, Wars or simply ancient beings wiping out entire planets with the Infinity Stones. The universe has never been shown as overcrowded in the slightest.

It also limits the threat of the villain - killing half the universe was not Thanos' end goal in the comics, yet here it sounds like his end goal is to ensure overpopulation does not occur by limiting universal population.

It's almost as if perhaps they expected Thanos to have consistent character with how he is portrayed in the movies and stripping him of everything that made the character interesting damages the character...

All people are doing here is celebrating the bastardization of a character in the same way that people did for the Joker in Suicide Squad or Superman in Batman V Superman.

Nobody is going to like this change if it is accurate given it'll be so generic that Thanos will be unmemorable as a villain for anything other than visuals and being extremely powerful, especially after over 6 years of the casual movie-goers familiarizing themselves with the character - it's just a letdown.

@Scarilian - I've been following and reading Thanos for years and every single appearance he's been in. You? Well.. You can go [frick] yourself. This is spot on Thanos. Of course they've twisted his motivations by a bit, but philosophically this is Starlin Thanos is to a tee.
