AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Star Sebastian Stan Says Scheduling Made Filming A Little 'Out Of Sync'

Avengers: Infinity War is a milestone achievement for Marvel Studios that culminates 10 years worth of storytelling, but filming that concluding chapter is no easy feat when it comes to shooting scenes with the enormous cast the film has assembled. Sebastian Stan (who plays Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier) recently explained at Rhode Island Comic Con that the shooting schedule for the film was a challenging one, as he filmed some of his scenes months apart.

“It’s not something you always deal with," he said. "I feel like you always kind of have a script. But I guess, what I would say is, because we’ve done these characters for a bit now, there’s a little bit of a telepathic kind of knowledge between us and the writers. And you kind of can sometimes guess where they’re going to take it, a little bit. For example, this one was really hard, because we keep going in and out. I go back there for a week, and then I leave for a month. And then I go back there for a few more days. So it’s a little bit out of sync. But it still hopefully adds up in the end.”

With the first trailer for the film expected before the end of the year, it will be interesting to see how directors Joe and Anthony Russos manage to combine such a vast array of separately filmed scenes into a story happening all at once.

Avengers: Infinity War releases on May 4, 2018.

It would be hilarious (and awesome) if it played with Justice League. But Feige wouldn't do that without releasing it previously. Star Wars it is then. Maybe a week or two before online.

@Deonox - Could be. Jimmy Kimmel tends to get the big trailer drops, so I'd imagine he might get to exclusively air it around that time.

It's a lot of in-demand actors all in the same movie together. Of course scheduling is gonna be off, dude

I live in Rhode Island, and I didn't even know this was happening. Weird Al and Bret Hart were there. Shannon Elizabeth too... wow. They would have been cool to meet... along with the rest of the washed up celebrities desperate for money.

@XelCorp - Only 4 weeks between now and Last Jedi. I'd say we're 2 weeks away. So either Thanksgiving, the 27-29 on Jimmy Kimmel, or Dec 4-6 on Jimmy Kimmel as well.

Off topic but @MattBellissimo would you be interested in posting how big EA [frick]ed up on Battlefront 2?

For those who don’t know, EA put characters like Vader, the Emperor, Luke, & Leia behind an ingame credits paywall. Someone took the time to map out how long it would take to earn enough credits to unlock 1 character & it came out to 40 hours. Meaning EA is making you buy microtransactions because nobody has 40 hours to spend to unlock Luke.

Here is EA’s statement on the 40 hour grind

@MattBellissimo - but don’t you want to feel a sense of pride & accomplishment in wasting 40 hours to unlock Luke? ;-)
