Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is only about a month away from hitting theater, yet that hasn’t stop some from shifting the conversation towards the still distant fourth installment. And with these conversations has come a healthy dose of speculation regarding what exactly Avengers 4 will be about. Among the more popular theories is that Avengers 4 will see some of our favorite heroes go on a journey through time. However, in a recent interview, half of the writing duo behind Infinity War, Stephen McFeely, reveals that he is quite aware of some of the fan theories. Furthermore, he has made a statement about just how accurate these theories are.
“You have no idea what Avengers 4 is,” McFeely said before continuing. “Nobody knows, and that’s what makes me particularly excited. I look all the time on the internet: people have no idea!” In other words it certainly sounds like speculators still have some more work to do.
Along with his comments towards fan theories for Avengers 4, McFeely also commented on the fourth film’s relationship to Infinity War.
“[Avengers 4] resolves the intrigue of Infinity War; [the movies are] clearly linked, but they almost seem to belong to two different genres. We did not want to cut a film in half and say, ‘Pay now and come back in a year for the rest!’ These are two very different stories, on a tonal and structural level.”
Obviously, these comments don't reveal much about Avengers 4, but it they do reiterate other comments about how distinct these two Avengers films will be from each other. Anyways, what do you folks make of these comments? Do you have any theories about Avengers 4 that you think may be right?
