After releasing a character profile for
Captain America in
Marvel's Avengers,
developer Crystal Dynamics is now putting the spotlight on two other Avengers: Tony Stark/Iron Man and Bruce Banner/Hulk. Both characters received spotlight teaser trailers that showcase multiple outfits and some gameplay snippets.
As a reminder, the characters seen in
Marvel's Avengers are not modeled after the ones we've gotten to know on the big screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is its own standalone story with versions of the characters thought up by Crystal Dynamics in tandem with Marvel.
So the Tony Stark and Bruce Banner we see in the game will not be the same as the characters brought to life by Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo. That said, Crystal Dynamics has assembled its own superstar cast, including Troy Baker and Nolan North — two of the gaming industry's biggest voice actors — as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Tony Stark/Iron Man, respectively.
Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Marvel's Avengers assembles on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia on May 15, 2020.
