As you'll no doubt be aware by now, tickets for Avengers: Endgame went on sale this morning, and the demand has been pretty high... to say the least.

According to mobile ticket retailer Atom (via Deadline), the superhero epic has set a new record after only an hour of tickets becoming available. In fact, Avengers: Endgame has sold three times more tickets on Atom in the first hour of pre-sales than Avengers: Infinity War did around this time last year.

Fandango is also reporting record hour sales for the highly anticipated Phase 3 finale.

The demand for Endgame tickets is so massive that many websites have crashed, making it very difficult for fans to secure their seats. This should resolve itself soon enough, so we'll be sure to keep you guys updated. For now, you can check out yet another new poster for the movie from Real 3D below.

Avengers is our generation's star wars. In the 70s - 80s before online ticketing there were people camping and figting for Star Wars 4 - 6 tickets. There were lines as long as street blocks that police had to manage. TFA and TLJ skew a lil bit towards older people too who prefer to buy in person.

This is a phenomenon that usually only occurs once every 10 - 15 years. I'm going to remember this moment forever.

@AbidNaga - HOLY SHIT!!! I got my first matinee, first day of Avengers: Endgame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Twenty-one films in the Infinity Saga, FIRST matinee, FIRST Day (except for Thor, for which I was unavoidably detained)!!!!!

@mastakilla39 - I was also present at Star Wars, very first day, very first matinee. And we had no Internet back then. It was an article in LIFE Magazine that had me completely hyped to see the film. I saw it 26 times in the theater that very first run.

Got my tickets a few hours ago, the screening already had the classic triangle formation going on in terms of seats taken. Thankfully I got a few center spots.

Honestly I've never seen anything like it. Not for IW or Star Wars. I live in Scotland and the Glasgow screening sold out in 20 MINUTES !!! Took me an hour to book cos it kept crashing.

@Cap1 - Same here in Manchester man. Double bill in the IMAX and I only just got a couple middle row seats, I've never seen the whole screening go so fast. Made sure I've got tickets for the day after and Saturday tho too hahah

Was pure madness amd craziness, never seen anything like this on Fandango before. Lucky I got opening night tickets when they went online at 745 this morning. Because after 8, the site was crashing. Took me forever to get second viewing tickets for Sunday the 28th. Thank Feige I woke up extra early this morning. Whatever it takes!!

Sucks that IMAX won't allow nice recliners, but a price I'll pay to see this film as its intended on opening night! The IMAX I wanted to go to is only showing 3D screenings for the first week, so had to go with a different IMAX theater.

@MyCoolYoung - I don't actually know why, but it is something mandated by IMAX. For example, the theater I bought my IMAX tickets at is one of those Regal + 1 cinemas (all regular screens except for one IMAX). Every theater has recliners except the IMAX one.

Now some IMAX theaters have non-recliners that are more comfortable than others, but that's more of a theater specific issue. The IMAX I wanted to go to downtown, a true IMAX but only showing 3D screenings the first week, has fine non-recliners; the theater I chose (really the only other IMAX in the area) does not have the most comfortable non-recliners, but again a price I'm willing to pay.

I'm not the biggest fan of the actual recliner but the room and comfort of those seats are spectacular.

The Marcus theater around me has the big iMax screens but they don't call it iMax, probably for that reason, and they have heated reclining seats. Im a have to look into this more

@HeavyMetal4Life - same at my IMAX, no recliners. They are nice and comfy seats with a tray table and in theater food/beverages, so no complaints really. Just glad I don’t have to get up, unlike another theater near me. I hate missing parts because I need another beer!

Though I’m not sure if three hours had elapsed or not, but I’m confident I can handle it. On the other hand, it is a 10 am showing so MAYBE too early for beer? 🤔🤔🤔
