The hype for Avengers: Infinity War is in full swing, and according to a new report, the film is already starting to break some records. A new report from AMC Theatres (via Business Insider) has revealed that the film has almost tripled Black Panther in ticket presales in the first 72 hours (during the same timeframe). The website also posted the following breakdown to compare to past Marvel releases:
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Advance Ticket Sales After 72 Hours:
257.6% ahead of BLACK PANTHER
715.5% ahead of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
1106.5% ahead of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
AMC's president and CEO, Adam Aron, issued a staement, revaling premium formats to be a large part of the draw for filmgoers. “The incredible advance ticket sales success we’re seeing with Avengers: Infinity War is another example of consumers giving evidence that they will come out to movie theatres in huge numbers when Hollywood makes movies they want to see,” Aron said. “Just like we saw with Black Panther, Jumanji, The Greatest Showman, and so many others, movie fans are buying their tickets in advance, they’re buying in premium formats, they’re buying to reserve their seats, and they’re doing so in massive, record-breaking numbers.”
Given the amount of studio and fan investment in the film, it's no surprise that it's already breaking records, and likely will continue to do so upon release.
Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theatres on April 27, 2018. Do you have your tickets yet?
