It's now been confirmed multiple times that Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise the role of Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War, but in a new interview with Yahoo Movies, the actor shed some light on how exactly the Sorcerer Supreme is going to enter that world. "I think [Doctor Strange] has to be Team Doctor Strange," he explained. "His job title is defender of the fabric of reality. I mean, he fights other dimensional threats that are beyond the perceptions of that very potent squabble [between Cap and Iron Man], and I’d like to think he’s going to help them both, rather than take sides."

That's a diplomatic answer, but one which makes a lot of sense, and Cumerbatch elaborated on how he'll factor into the world of The Avengers. "The character list gets a little heavier [from ‘Doctor Strange’ to ‘Infinity War’] and you’re working with some legends of the screen let alone iconic characters. So that’ll be a lot of fun. Doctor Strange is there to provide the opening of a new chapter, it’s literally going to open up the dimensions, so just when that frame got a little crowded, it’s got a whole lot bigger." Strange is clearly going to be a key player in the conflict with Thanos then.

"DOCTOR STRANGE Will Unite The Divided Avengers In INFINITY WAR"

Wow for some reason this headline just made me pause and think about how far the MCU has come and how deep into the Marvel Universe we are. It really is crazy.

@TheManWithoutFear - Two years ago, I didn't think they'd have Spiderman. Just imagine what we'll find out from Marvel two years from now.

"I think [Doctor Strange] has to be Team Doctor Strange," he explained while digressing off the topic of how huge McGee was. "His job title is defender of the fabric of reality. I mean, he fights other dimensional threats that are beyond the perceptions of that very potent squabble [between Cap and Iron Man], and I’d like to think he’s going to help them both, rather than take sides."

Wow. I love his point of view.

My guess is he will show them an alternate reality where they dont unite and how the world is destroyed. Thus prompting them to put their differences aside to save the world.

@ComicsBornAndBred - I know this is reading in to it........ And a huge stretch... But this could have to do with Thanos being in love with Death?
