As Mantis would say, Avengers: Infinity War is currently kicking names and taking ass at the worldwide box office with a current haul of over $725 million (expect that figure to increase a little later today).
It's not currently clear how high the Marvel Studios movie will go but it should effortlessly exceed $1 billion this weekend and the sky is definitely the limit, especially as it still hasn't opened in China yet.
However, something many analysts are currently making a point of highlighting is the fact that in a matter of days, Avengers: Infinity War has already topped what Justice League made during its entire run at the worldwide box office. The DC Comics adaptation holds the dubious honour of being the lowest grossing movie set in the DCEU to date with a rather embarrassing haul of $657.9 million.
That was despite the fact that it brought together heroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg for the first time on screen but seeing as moviegoers had already seen The Trinity together and were given no reason to care about the rest, it's not hard to see why there was such a difference in terms of box office takings. Which of these ensembles do you think was better?
