Could Marvel really handle a full universe?

Sure, everyone wants to have all the Marvel characters at home, but could Marvel make enough movies to do them justice?

The other day I was talking with some friends about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They were saying how it was best not to have the X-Men and Spider-Man owned by Disney. They said they wouldn’t be able to make enough movies. I just wanted to throw out that they could if they brought out 3 movies a year instead of just 2. They would need to make Avengers films, Avenger/human Solo films, Cosmic team films (Like Guardians of the Galaxy), Probably Cosmic solo films (Nova, Thor could be included), X-men/Mutant solo films, X-men Team films, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man.
Spider-Man is such a huge hero that he deserves his own movie on schedule. Now I would suggest they do a 3 year format. Make a team film every year (Not including the FF). It could look something like this.
Year 1: Fantastic Four, Avenger Solo, Cosmic Team.
Year 2: Spiderman, Avenger solo, X-men
Year 3: Mutant, Cosmic solo, Avengers.

There are lots of other teams out there but most characters in the Marvel comic universe fit into one of these 3 teams. The cosmic team ups could be thrown about between Guardians of the Galaxy or others like the infinity watch. Other Ideas would be Instead of a Cosmic Solo do another Mutant solo or Avenger solo. If you made 4 Movies a year you could add in another one of each. Also since Spiderman isn’t really a team member usually, Sony could keep the rights and that could add another movie. Maybe you could pay Sony to let them tie in. We would have one or two less solo Avengers films, but there are so many more areas to explore that they could do it anyway.
Looking at what is coming out in the near future. It’s pretty much over three years between three studios.
1 Cosmic team.
3 Avengers.
1 Mutant solo.
1 X-men movie.
1 Spiderman.
So in all reality they would have just about the same amount of marvel movies coming out but all fitting together in the same universe. Personally I’d like to see a universe tied together with less films then 3 maybe 4 (FF on its own by fox also maybe) that are totally separate.

The Wolverine: Tonight
Thor: Dark Worlds: November 2013
The Amazing Spiderman 2: April 2014
Captain America: May 2014
X-men Days of future past: May 2014
Guardians of the Galaxy: November 2014
Avengers: Age of Ultron: May 2015
Ant man: November 2015

I didn't say non marvel movies sucked? Just said I want to see a shared Universe. We would see enough Marvel movies. I know lots of people would be fine with seeing 1-2 less movies a year if the all tied in. Just like we want to start seeing DC tie in instead of just Sups and Bats. Another thing Fox and sony have had a tough time finishing off their trilogies. Last stand was horrible. Spider-man 3 was horrible. Blade did finish well. But daredevil, Hulk, Ghost Rider, X-men Origins, Electra, Fantastic four 1-2, lots of people say First class failed as well. (I love it). That's a lot of screw ups. Good movies would be first 2 X-men, Blades, and first 2 spider-mans along with TASM. that gives us 8 good movies and 9-10 flops. Not as high a ratio as Marvel which has had the Incredible hulk as its worst movie (still did well). Thats why people want to see them in the same universe, by Marvel which is by far the best studio at this time in Comic movies. Heck they Have one of the greatest movie franchises ever. DC will pass them probably though. Justice league will nail it.

Let's dial it back to yellow friends and neighbors. No need to get defensive over petty things.

I see what you're saying about the scheduling, but there's a serious problem on the rise, whether we want to see it or not.

Comic book movies will burn out...
...if they go at that pace.

Look at all the Pixar movies that come out every year, or the CG Disney movies that could be easily mistaken for Pixar. You can't really keep track of them. They're also getting kind of stupid, if you haven't noticed. I went to see the Lone Ranger like two weeks ago, and there's this trailer attached to it for the movie "Turbo"... it's about a snail.

Very soon, it will become a blur. Only the die-hard fans will be able to keep up with it, while the rest will just be like "meh". The nostalgia will be gone, the exclusive appeal will dissipate, and it'll just be forgettable action that past generations would have gone CRAZY over... but the current one will just be numb to.

Here's something to really think about. How about something like a superhero cafe, but not really? If you're familiar with the director, think Quentin Tarantino's three earliest movies - but with superheroes, maybe only supervillains. Go for some street-level stories that aren't about saving the world, but just having fun, scoring big, surviving the night, escaping. It's not a waste of the characters, believe me - it's just a different platform to consider.

Agree Tainted. Right now I think people are just wanting to see all the characters, but as soon as we need a reboot or the storyline they are in right now get sused up? People will lose interest. Thats why I think they will need to get the rest of marvel in the same universe, everyone will want to watch those (until eventually they burn out also). I've wanted to see street level stories. I think it would be interesting.

I think they could get 3 done. The've talked about it before. F4 I don't consider a team up because their isn't really much of spinoff chances. I think I agree with you though. That would make sense to use other ways of a space film. I guess they would do like 1 GotG space film or something and other than that use F4 or something.
Maybe if they rebooted the whole story they could do a 15 year plan or something.

5 avengers movies, 3 X-men movies, 2 FF movies. 4 sinister 6 Spiderman series. 1 Daredevil, black panther, Dr strange, punisher, blade, ant man, heroes for hire. 2 cap, 2 Thor 3 Iron man. 2 hulk, 1 Nova corps, 1 Inhumans. 5 X-men spin offs. My favorite would be Magneto, wolverine, beast, cyclops, storm. That's about 2-3 movies a year which i think they could do. Full universe, with Loki, Ultron, Kang, and Thanos delt with for the avengers. Dr Doom and Galactus for the FF, apacolyps and Magneto for X-men. Thats knocks out roughly the top 10 villains of the Marvel universe (As far as that teams take out). Not to mention you can have Kree/skrull attack with any of these villains just fine, AIM and HYDRA. And also do the Eternals. Bam thats pretty much the major marvel universe.

Maybe i'm to big a dreamer, but they could do a very good universe in that much time. Give a few year break, come back with more uniquest storylines. Or maybe even the ultimate universe. Either way they can reboot, or just grab what characters they have created in this universe and do some of the storylines they have. like the korvac saga, or the secret invasion.

I agree to an extent. If movies tie in though, people would be more excited to see them. Like all of movies that tie into each other. Like harry potter, what 8 movies and everyone wen't crazy for all of them? If they do 10 years 25 movies. People will see them. Just like people see every movie that comes out now between the 3 marvel studios.

Eventually they will get old, but I could see at least 1 massive series by marvel that people will still see.
