Kevin Feige Reveals Exactly How Far Marvel Studios' Current Plans Stretch Into The Future
Marvel President Kevin Feige has weighed in on the future of the studio and exactly how far ahead they've planned out the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It sounds like Phase 4 is already taking shape...
Comic-Con was a big weekend for Marvel Studios as they brought everything from Black Panther to Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Homecoming to the annual event in San Diego. However, what we saw in Hall H was really just the tip of the iceberg, and you have to believe the studio has huge plans mapped out as far as the end of Phase 3 and beyond. Talking to ComicBook.com, Kevin Feige elaborated on exactly how far ahead they're thinking, and it's not as far as you might think.
"We always look at a horizon line that's usually about five years off. Sometimes, even that is sort of a pipe dream, sometimes it even goes beyond that. That's usually what we're looking at. Right now, we know through and have announced through 2019. We have ideas and pretty firm of where we're going in 2020. 2021, which still sounds like the crazy, far fetched future to me, but 2021 is still in flux through 2025."
So, the first few Phase 4 movies have already been decided on then, but beyond that it seems the future is in flux. That makes sense considering the fact that Marvel has no idea how well the likes of Doctor Strange and Ant-Man and The Wasp will perform, but it's interesting that they already have at least a few ideas about where to go next. When we'll hear about those plans remains to be see, but there's more than enough to look forward to over the next few years to keep us going! Thoughts?
