POLL: THOR VS The Incredible Hulk (On Screen Versions)!

Which feature film character looks to be the most powerful, THOR or The Incredible Hulk? Who will get the upper hand in The Avengers?

Feature Opinion

We know it's coming. We have all been waiting for it. It's been building for some time. Now it's time we discuss it. Next year Marvel brings it's on screen heroes together for the first time in The Avengers and we are well aware of the fact that these characters are going to have a difficult time coexisting in the same group.

Two of these characters have a long and storied history of clashing in the comics. Both have emerged victorious at different times. For the first time ever, we will (more than likely) get to see two of Marvels most powerful heroes go head to head on the big screen. The powers and abilities they have shown in the comics is not what's at question here. What I would like you to do is discuss and vote for which hero you beleive will be the victor in a confrontation between The Incredible Hulk and THOR based solely on what you have seen from them in the world of film.

Which characters movie version looks more unstoppable in your opinion? That is the question. As usual, please vote and state your reasons below.

the way thor takes out the destroyer so quickly,i think the hulk wouldn't be much of a threat.

thor vs hulk, could be the best fight ever put on screen.

it must happen in the avengers.

Hulk really did not come off as powerful as he should be, breaking a car and making a small crack in the ground wasn't that impressive when compared to what Thor pulled off. They better beef up hulk during the avengers leading up to the fight Hulk should be able to Stand toe to toe with Thor.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 5/10/2011, 9:45 AM
um...Hulk should be able to beat Thor. Thor looked more impressive in the movie, but in the comics Thor has NEVER beaten the Hulk one on one. And they've fought numerous times.

Thor might be very powerful, but that doesn't matter if none of it really hurts the Hulk that bad.

and if Thor can take out the Hulk by himself, then why would the Avengers need to be there to help? They will make Hulk tougher than Thor, it only makes sense from every way you look at it.

@ Thunderforce

I know you're a huge Thor fan, but come on, Thor has never beaten Hulk by himself. The proof is in the comics.

Depends on the situation and how angry Hulk gets. He just keeps getting stronger and stronger when angry...so its a victorious Hulk in those situations.

If you think about this from a comics perspective, Thor still has small traces of the Odin Force, and has the Godblast, which blasted a whole right through Galactus and made Juggernaut go the other direction.

But for the movie versions of the characters, Thor would win this fight easily. I still don't think we even saw a quarter of his potential in his own movie, they're saving the REAL Thor for The Avengers, when he takes on armies of Skrulls by himself. Thor lifts Hulk off the ground, creates a storm to give him a bigger edge, and just brings dozens of lightning bolts on Hulk, and then slams him to the ground with Mjolnir.

Based on Hulk vs. I would have to say Hulk - he was pretty much unstoppable in this- and he went up against Thor and Loki both- plus if you hurt him - he just gets stronger. I'm a huge Thor fan - but I have to say Hulk.

Movie Thor would win based on what we've seen from Incredible Hulk and Thor. Thor was portrayed as pretty much unstoppable with his hammer and if drops the hammer on Hulk like he did with Loki, Hulk's pretty much immobile. Of course, I think if we do see a Thor/Hulk confrontation in the Avengers film, however brief, we'll likely see an inconclusive stalemate or possibly the Hulk looking *slightly* better if it's just a brawl.

In the comics, Thor and Hulk are only really portrayed as equals when Thor fights down to Hulk's level (ie. brawling, keeping things physical). When Thor uses his various powers, though, while Hulk can amp his strength to surpass that of Thor's (though Thor has matched the Hulk's own increasing strength for hours on end before), it's quite obvious that Thor operates on a much larger scale than that of the Hulk.

Without a doubt, provided Marvel does things on the up and up, Thor crushes the Hulk.

I will give this to Thor, Hulk should have displayed more powerful in the movie. Besides if u seen Hulk #622 early this year, Hulk got his ass handed to him by Zues!

The interesting thing to point out is that whenever they have fought in the comics, Thor was always trying to subdue or restrain the Hulk, whereas Hulk is pretty much tryin to kill Thor.

But this definitely would be worth seeing the Avengers.

dahamma - 5/10/2011, 11:10 AM
I say even.

Now i well know that Hulk has bested thor in the comics
But that HULK VS. cartoon was ridiculous. SO its telling me that wolverine can have hulk screaming and on his knees in agony and put up a better fight then Thor? no way.

I think Thor could beat Hulk but only if he really wants to. As someone mentioned, Thor isn't trying to kill Hulk, although Hulk is trying to SMASH (kill) Thor lol So i think Thor holds back.

In the movie Avengers i think they will tie

If I'm not mistaken when Thor had his hammer he was unstoppable! Hulk could barely beat the Abomination, Thor was destroying everything in his way!
Starheart
Starheart - 5/10/2011, 11:14 AM
@ Sagemode: Yeah, there's been a couple of times where Thor was outright pissed and out for blood, but usually it's Thor who's trying to fight the Hulk without endangering innocent people as Hulk's on the rampage. It says a lot about Thor's power if he's able to draw/stalemate an angry Hulk whose strength is constantly increasing for extended periods of time.

And yeah, Zeus beating the crap out of Hulk isn't a mark against him. Just recently, Odin beat up Thor in a brief scuffle and if Thor was replaced by Hulk in that comic, he would lose, too. He did fight for months on end against a Zeus who was testing him, but if Zeus wanted Thor dead, he'd likely kill him about as easy as Odin would.

for the people basing there decision on the movies, what did thor actually do that was any more powerful then TIH?? when i saw the movie most of the fight scenes were shaky as hell and i hate that in movies like bb, and him beating destroyer that quick is wrong , i liked the movie but he didnt come off that strong to me .i actually saw what hulk was doing in his movie .

actually, hulk HAS lifted Thor's hammer, he wasn't worthy, he's just that strong. nice try though

Hmmmmm ALL of the most recent theories are FLAWED!! HULK is the frigging man. Hmmm let me think Odin put a spell on mjolnir so only those worthy could weild....Hmmm let me think HULK is the only mofo to do that. He is either worthy enough to hold shield...regardless of his rampages...OR...he is strong enough to bypass the spell Odin put on it. On both counts that equates to him being as strong if not stronger than Thor.
Now dont for one second think Im saying it would be a quick fight but it would be an awesome one!!
On a further note...go back over your marvel comics for the last couple of years as well...if you cant be arsed ill remind you cretins:
1.World War Hulk...the only person strong enough to battle HULK was the SENTRY...the MOST POWERFUL BEING IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE
2. SENTRY...took down ASGARD in one fell swoop and the battle between Thor and Sentry pretty much was stalemated also. But Thor was scared you saw it in his eyes. To be fair they never actually had a one to one either.
3. "HULK is strongest there is"...Even Marvel have said it...Hulk would win eventually...
But its something i would pay to see...

When the hell has Hulk ever lifted Mjolnir in the mainstream Marvel 616 continuity? Never. Red Hulk/Rulk used a combination of his absorbing powers and a gravity free environment to pick up Mjolnir, both of which scream "plot device".

As far as feats/accomplishments go, Thor's done more impressive things than Hulk has. There's really no compare. And virtually every time they have fought one another, it's always Thor using his bare hands and Mjolnir as a melee weapon, not Thor using his vast elemental control or Godblast or Antiforce or opening a portal to the sun, etc. And when Thor does use his other powers, he's knocked out Hulk before with lightning and summoned a rain storm (yes, rain) which was so powerful not even Hulk could move in its downpour.

I don't think anyone is disputing that Hulk's strength once he gets angry enough exceeds that of Thor, but if you look at their respective victories and feats and compare them, it's obvious Marvel portrays Thor as being overall more powerful than the Hulk, as strength and power are categorized as two different things.

@corndogburgalar the only time that the Hulk has ever lifted the hammer was in the ultimates and that crap doesn't count, and fyi thor has beaten every version of the Hulk, red Hulk, green Hulk, and grey hulk. Matter of fact the only person that thor doesn't have a victory against is superman. He has beaten everyone else that he has faced
