Grumman Studios in Bethpage, Long Island has one big production under it's belt already with Angelina Jolie's
Salt. It has also been used to shoot some high profile television commercials.
Now it is getting ready for it's largest undertaking to date. Disney's Marvel Studios is preparing to begin construction on the sets at Grumman Studios so they can start shooting
The Avengers.
Grumman Studios President Parviz Farahzad who transformed Long Islands largest movie studio out of pre-existing buildings, indicated that the production would utilize the facility for months. He also had this to say about
Salt,
“It was a start for us, it put us on the map.”
According to Farahzad
“The Avengers is a huge movie. They’re taking all seven stages.”
Set construction should begin next month.
The Avengers directed by Joss Whedon and starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson is expected to hit theaters May 4th 2012.
Hawksblueyes: I really can't wait for this film to start in motion. Something tells me that since they are filming most of it in these studios, we are not going to be receiving much information as it rolls along.
