"The Other" in The Avengers cast list

Alexis Denisof plays 'The Other' in The Avengers. When I clicked on the character description of 'The Other' on IMDb, something really interesting came up. Spoilers too, obviously. Do not read if you want to avoid spoilers.

Right, so I was on The Avengers page on IMDb and noticed something interesting. Alexis Denisof plays The Other (I think a news item has already mentioned this on the site). But then, I clicked on the character description for 'The Other' and guess what I found? It reverts me to the character page for 'Annihilus'.

Now obviously, Annihilus is a major villain in the Marvel universe. So can this be true? Is it really Thanos in the mid-credits scene or maybe a modification of Annihilus? (I have not read anywhere where Thanos is "officially" announced by any Marvel execs, but if he has, then do leave a comment).

So what do you guys think? Can "Thanos" really be a modified Annihilus (haven't read the comics and don't know anything about the comic Annihilus, so comment if this is possible or not) or is the henchman/chitauri representative "the other" and that henchman/chitauri representative is "annihilus"?

Or is this IMDb just being IMDb? Please take this with a grain of salt and furnish the possibilities in the comments section. Comment and Thumbs Up as usual guys (my second article now). Thanks. :)

thanos was in the movie. the other mentions 'us' when he refers to the chitauri, so im guessing his just a chitauri representative to thanos

If " The Other " turns out just to be a high ranking Chitauri that works for Thanos...then ok

If he truly turns out to be Annihilus, if Marvel Studios says it themselves, then that could show that the Chitauri are led by Annihilus but both above all else answer to Thanos, and maybe they arent the only alien race under Thanos' command, which can be explored more in other MCU Cosmic films.

@Bane that is a reasonable explanation. I mean we are now entering cosmic phase two.

If Annihilus and Thanos are working together I will make a big mess in the cinema. Seeing it again today, he did have a resemblance to Annihilus....

The Other is the alien talking to Thanos not Thanos himself.

@ironman666 you see, The other was the guy who spoke to Loki, and at the mid-credits scene The other is speaking to Thanos, you seem to think Thanos and the other are the same person, but they are not, the other is the person working for Thanos and talking to him in the mid-credits, so yeah The Other is Annihilus

Hmmm don't really think The Other is anyone particular from the comics, seems more likely that, like Coulson, he was made sorely for the movies. If Feige or anyone else says otherwise then I'll be the first to say how wrong I am.

People need to seriously adjust their eyes and ears when it comes to movies. First Bane's dialogue is misheard, Now the guy talking to the mad titan is mistaken for the mad titan himself.

If you have seen the movie, it's clearly Thanos. There's no doubt about that.

As for "The Other", he speaks on the behalf of Thanos in the movie. We don't know who or what is he.

I also find it hilarious that you're using IMDB as a source.

If the report is only coming from IMDB's cast listing it's most likely wrong. IMDB is just like wikipedia, people edit any sort of stupid shit on to there.

thanos didn't talk or anything at the end, it was just him smiling, the other is the guy that was talking. Everyone tried to say that thanos talked at the end but he didn't. Just his asst. talked. Thanos only turned his head and smiled. The asst did have a weird mask type thing on so maybe it is annihulus but this is imdb so who knows.

@werethewalkingdead9. Dude, if you dont want to see or read about it then dont click on it. It said spoiler in the title ... just because you haven't scene it doesn't mean that people who have cant discuss it. Its been out for a week over seas, and some people, such as me, in U.S.A have gotten to see private screenings. I could understand if the article didnt say spoiler in it, but dont be a baby about it when there is no need to.

The Other is the guy talking to Thanos. He does look a little bit different from the chitauri. He could be Annihilus.

If they really are moving towards the Infinity Gauntlet arc, and it really seems as though they are (based not just on Thanos and the "courting death" reference, but also on the setting of that scene....it's almost directly taken from the art from Infinity Gauntlet #1) then "the Other" would have to be Mephisto, though if it is they REALLY didn't follow his character design
