I have spent the last week or so on here reading comment after comment after comment trashing Marvel Studios in some shape or form. It is one thing to be upset (you have every right to be) its another to start putting out false information or starting up internet rumors of comebacks for casting etc.
Avengers trailer
Side note- I am so so so very tired of seeing post after post of the reason why someone wants to see this film is for Scar Jo in a tight costume. And people wonder why, even now, there is still not nearly as many female fans in the fandom. Its because frankly, alot of us are tired of hearing that type of stuff.
ED NORTON IS NOT BRUCE BANNER. It's not going to happen. Ever. again.
This is the perfect text book example of "dead is dead". Norton ruffled too many feathers (we will never know the details) while filming Incredible Hulk. Even diva type of actors are given so much lee-way before they get themselves black listed.
I speak from experience for that last sentence. Both in school and as an indy producer there are cast and crew that are on my little naughty list i refuse to work with again. When I get calls about these people's work ethics for other projects I am bluntly honesty with that producer. One bad apple (cast or crew)can ruin everything. I think Norton did this to himself with Marvel.
Ruffalo is a very good actor. Is he going to be the perfect Hulk/Banner? Who knows. But I have to agree with PrinceofPower87 "Sorry but there is NOTHING GREAT about Norton's portrayal of Bruce Banner to me. It could maybe be just me but I didn't get Norton's fear of what he was (an unstoppable DESTRUCTION MACHINE) like Bill Bixby passed on the audience. THAT'S what his portrayal lacked and what could have made it great, IMO."
You are basing a "performance" on less than 2 seconds (YES 2 SECONDS) of footage. He is just standing there- no delivery of a line, nothing. At least, at the very least wait until the full trailer is out and Ruffalo has like, a few lines to start ripping him to shreds.
Oh and someone reported that the actual production budget of Avengers is 260 million?
That is probably true- but not how you think. Most Studios report their box office numbers of the production budget which includes pre-production through post production (salaries, costs, food, travel etc). They VERY RARELY if ever count into the reported budget P&A (Prints and Advertising). Normally, from what I have learned, the P&A is a good third to 1/2 of the production budget.
So for example- Green Lantern's production budget was reported as $200 million (boxofficemojo.com). It's actual on the books budget for Warner is more than likely $233-300 million including the P&A. (Most people would consider this a flop since its only made $154,500,000 world wide).
Captain America.
Oh.. cap isn't doing well overseas? He only had like, what (as of me typing this at 10pm CDT) 53 million in the overseas box.
Did anyone, ANYONE take a look at the release schedule for Cap?

Here's the thing- that is the neatest roll out schedule for a tent pole film that I have seen (once you break it down this way, as oppose to alphabetical on box office mojo). Japan I would put at the tail end also because that market LOVES American culture. I am a bit surprised by the delay in release (October seems so far away) however it makes quite a bit of sense due to all the economic and environmental issues still going on.
There is NO way you can compare the box office numbers of Cap to Thor until the beginning of October (if that) because of how this roll out is. Will Cap do well in all of these markets? One could wish and hope, but reality says some markets will report back better numbers than others.
So for all the good in the world, please stop trashing a studio until you get your facts straight.
Thank you :)
