New BATMAN Video Game Reveal Is Reportedly Imminent And Could Be Released Very Soon

It's been five years since Batman: Arkham Knight was released, and a new report claims that not only is the next chapter going to be revealed soon, but it could be in stores long before we expected...

Rocksteady's "Arkham" series of Batman games were awesome, and fans agree that it's been way too long since we've been able to take control of the Dark Knight on consoles. There have been rumours about another instalment for years now, but they've never come to fruition, and countless leaks have been proven false.

Last September, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment seemingly started teasing another Batman title, but we've heard nothing since, and it was widely assumed that it didn't really mean much.

Now, according to a report from Game Reactor, the original plan was to continue teasing this new Batman game right up until the now cancelled E3 event. COVID-19 changed everything, but the site claims that a reveal is still coming over the summer at some point.

That's exciting, but even more thrilling is the fact that it could be released, "sooner than you may think." They don't share any details beyond that, though there is speculation online that this is going to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later this year.

We'll have to wait and see for now, but what's going to be interesting is whether it's a reboot or some sort of sequel to the surprising events of Batman: Arkham Knight (which boasted quite the cliffhanger).

I'd only be interested if it focuses on the Bat Family characters instead of just another fixated Batman game. There have been plenty of them in the last decade with the 4 Arkham titles, it's been enough.

One in the vein of the Avengers game that is coming soon would be much more exciting and fresh.

They have no source. Sounds like Josh has a brother on Gamereactor.

I hope it’s court of Owls themed and Batman has to use lethal gadgets to take them out because they are zombies and it technically doesn’t break the code. Another cool one would a Dark knights: metal theme

@CaptainMexico -
It's a "Capture the Knight" story involving the Court of Owls, League of Assassins, and Order of Saint Dumas.

That's not speculation, WB Montreal has been teasing this on their Twitter.

I know another Arkham Batman game would be great, but I they've done more than enough for the character. There's not much more ground to cover. Time to give Superman or someone else their due.

@Super12 - Green Lantern would make for an interesting game I think, and on the Marvel side I NEED a Black Panther game in open world Wakanda/Africa!!!!!!!!!!

WB, just let me play as Deathstroke and I'll sell you my firstborn child

@GothamSon - You can play as Deathstroke in Origins. Shame he wasn't playable in Knight

@Nightwing1015 - I mean for a full game, or at least interchangeably with other Rogues

How was arkham knight a cliffhanger? Do you also think endgame ended on a cliffhanger?

@Origame - It was if you reached the "proper" ending.

@jj2112 - so saying his legacy continues is a cliffhanger now? Theres nothing to suggest they're planning anything about this. Especially since knight has been working like crazy covering every plot point presented in the other games

@Origame - I agree it seemed like a pretty conclusive ending to me but you know WB...

@Origame - Guess we'll have to wait and see then. Yeah, maybe it'll be nothing, just like that piece of N7 armor under the rubble at the end of Mass Effect 3.

@jj2112 - i mean i guess. If this is going to be a sequel then they'll have to address that and batman "dying". But i think we can agree that at the time it wasnt meant to be a cliffhanger.

@Origame - Yeah, I think they really screwed up by revealing his identity - that really pissed me off about the game.

@Vish617 - it at least works from the perspective of the end of the series. But the circumstances are weird (he basically just gives up when he took on greater challenges before) and if they continue the franchise.
