Will Batman die at the end of The Dark Knight Rises? That's the question on everybody's mind when it comes to the final installment in Christopher Nolan's trilogy. It might seem silly to even suggest such a thing, especially considering the fact that though this may be Nolan's last Bat-flick, Warner Bros. will will most definitely not be done with the character. But this is Nolan we are talking about, and if this movie is to be the finale of his bleak vision of The Dark Knight, many feel that he will give us a bittersweet ending - perhaps involving Joseph Gordon Levitt's mysterious John Blake and a "passing of the torch"? Anyway, it's all just speculation at this point, and one thing is for sure, we won't get a thing from Nolan. However, while speaking to Total Film Magazine the director does make it clear that TDKR will be the end of Bruce Wayne's story at least, and reveals that whatever they are planning for the character has been on the cards for years..

"Our telling of the Batman legend has always been centered on Bruce Wayne's story. We somewhat left the audience hanging at the end of the last film in terms of Bruce's story and we want to bring it full circle and have a complete tale. We've a great ending we've been wanting to tell for some years now. We're just thrilled to have been able to bring our story around to its conclusion."

For much more on The Dark Knight Rises be sure to pic up the new issue of Total Film Magazine, out now.

This movie will be the worst Batman movie ever. This guy is only worryed about the photography, the angles, the psicological issues but not in giving us an exciting movie of one of the most wonderfull superhero of all. This movie will be art, Avengers is an exciting, thrilling and full of action superhero movie. A Catwoman who`s not sexy, a Bane that is shorter tham Bruce Wayne...but what freaks me out is when he talks about an END OF A LEGEND...[frick] you Nolan.

I seriously hope MoS does good, I think supes kinda lost his popularity. I think they put the movie on hold so that they could get an animated series to make him relevant again...well, thatd be the smart thing to do.

liked the previous two movies and expect to like this one as well. I do not need to see all CBMs match the source material exactly as long as it is done well and this franchise has done that so far. Sure there are always things I would change like Hathaway for Catwoman because she looks supermodel fragile and not athletic ass kicker, same problem I had with Jessica Alba for Sue Storm; super model yes, woman of science no. But like I said Nolan is 2 for 2 in my book and expect good stuff. Also I like CBM that are for adults, there is plenty of stuff for kids.

Not saying Johnny cash is bad btw.

Omg @thewonderer

I LOVE the nolan batman films, but you are so far up the guy's arse, NO ONE should take anything you say seriously.

"The awkward moment when you realize Nolan's batman films are MORE accurate than any of the marvel films"

SERIOUSLY!?!? You truly believe this?....Dear lord

Can't believe some of you guys are hating on TDKR without any real information at all... NOLAN the cast and it's crew have been tight lipped the whole time and trailers really haven't told us much at all. I can't wait till the movie comes out and you [frick]ers change your minds quicker than you jizz.

OMG enough of this rivalry bullshit! The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises are players of the same team, CBM's!

My God, you guys are worse than my sister with the team Jacob Team Edward nonsense.

The 2 movies aren't even alike! And why are you guys so afraid and dreading that The Avengers is possibly better than 2008's Dark Knight?

Isn't THAT the whole point? For CBM's to get BETTER each year?
Stop bitching about movies you haven't seen yet.

Love ya guys:P

Marvel has done nothing but saturate the industry with DRIVEL. They finally got it right with their latest films. Avengers was great, but the only reason it's done well is because they put all those characters together, peel back the onion, and you get nothing but a weak story wrapped up with good character moments.

DC/WB started this in 1978, in 1989, and blew it up again in 2008. I remember everybody saying Iron Man was going to own TDK, look how that turned out, LOL.

Nolan is going to push the envelope again July 20th, raising the bar once again.

@thalidomide Damn dude, who's the one spasing out here. Maybe you should actually direct your comment at someone in particular. Now that I read the wonder's comment, I realize you were most likely talking to him. Just a miss understanding man, don't hurt yourself over there.
MadTitan
MadTitan - 5/12/2012, 6:43 AM

believing that Nolan alone raised the bar for the cbm adaptations is just plain overrated! this is the same hardcore ideas that put the mad in me over that hilarious a## kiss*ng activities that the Nolanites does everytime.

the guy is not even a god (not even close), and calling such man (metaphorically or not) is just plain preposterous and stupid.
