In the latest issue for BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL, the weekly comic book series from DC Comics, Red Robin and Red Hood's investigation into the newest threat, "Mother" leads them to the prison island of Santa Prisca. Once there, they discover that the island has been taken over by none other than The Crusade of St. Dumas, which also appears to be working alongside Mother.

The two heroes run into a venom-less Bane and get into a fight which leads to his unmasking by Red Hood and a serious unprecedented moment between Bane and Red Robin. Bane reveals that he has returned to claim what belongs to him, leading to a team-up. Once they made their way into the Church of St. Dumas, they are greeted by a well-known DC comics character, Azrael. This would be Azrael's official full appearance in DC Comics New 52. What do you think?

The new issue also gives Batman fans a little treat by alluding to the famous scene from the 1966 Batman Television Series. When making fun of their possible demise, Red Hood jokes about sharks eating Red Robin, to which Red Robin replies, "I've got three different forms of shark repellant on my person at all times." Take a look for yourself!

nearly 5 years after the reboot and people still aren't sure what is and isn't canon

@PaulY2J It's still not clear how things are canon though. Some stuff is just vaguely implanted into characters history like Titans Hunt. Some characters just exist in the current universe like Lois and Clark as well as 90's Parallax. It's just "Everything happened, but no one knows how exactly."

Is it just me or does Azrael look more like Vulcan? Maybe it is just and I really want to see that character again.

Considering that GOTHAM has been building up to Azrael, this is excellent timing (as long as they don't completely revamp the character to match what he is in GOTHAM).
