First Look Video Clip of Eric Gable in Action as ‘Batman’ in BATMAN EVOLUTION Fan Film

Actor and real-life ninja Eric Gable offers Brent Sprecher and CBM an exclusive first look at footage of 'Batman' in action in his long-awaited fan film Batman Evolution!

It's been close to a year since writer, actor, MMA trainer and real-life ninja Eric Gable got us all drooling by offering CBM the first look at his labor-of-love fan film Batman Evolution, so when I bumped into him at Comic-Con I had to ask what was going on with the short. Eric reiterated that the project is dedicated to portraying the Dark Knight as the martial artist and living weapon he is depicted as being in comic books, but also that the focus will be on how Batman's portrayal on screen has evolved over the past 40-plus years since the Batman TV series.

Eric went on to explain that the long delay since releasing the first still images from the short exclusively to CBM has to do with post-production circumstances behind his control, but he promised that the movie would be released soon. After some heavy cajoling by yours truly, Eric finally agreed to give CBM the first teaser clip from the movie. Enjoy!

[NOTE: This clip is raw footage that has yet to be color corrected.]

After sending me the clip, Eric also sent me this set photo of actor Joel Hebner as Black Mask looking menacing as all hell between takes.

Only 4 seconds of him throwing a pipe? Didn't we first get word of this filming like a year ago? This better be like 15-20 minutes, at least.

i really don't think that there has been a "complete" representation of batman in all his complexity on the big screen.. i mean he is a lot of things,
expert martial artist,
master detective,
troubled man,
complete nut job,
etc.

@MercSoul - I think it's only fair to actually wait for this to come out and then judge it.

MCMLXXXII: Totally! Only way to get that deep into the character would be a long run on HBO as an original series.

TheAmazingSpidey63: Very eloquently put, my friend.

@TheRationalOne - Well, its what he had at the time to give us for us to know that it's still in the process of being in production (or post-production, not sure). I'm sure that it'll be worth the long wait.

Also, that's a badass pic of Black Mask. Love it. I would've preferred that they went with this look for him....

But hey, they did what they could with this project. Looks awesome, nonetheless.

I think Eric is gABLE to do it. But yes, the costume is very weird, why didn't they just go with a Batman Beyond costume, and change the emblem to the classic.

I never liked the whole "get knocked out by a single thrown object" thing that alwasy happens in movies. It seems to me that if a guy got a pipe thrown at him, he'd just get back up and be pissed off. Unless of course Batman just used it as a distraction and then took him out.

But that's just me being nitpicky. About something that happens all the time in lots of movies. This actually looks pretty interesting, I'm excited to see it. We've never really seen a good representation of the "martial artist Batman"

What happened to the cape?

The ears on the mask here is the PERFECT size! Hopefully Snyder will actually make Batman look like a freakin' Bat in this new franchise!

What do you guys think of my picks for a season veteran battle tested Batman?

1. Kevin Porter (City Of Scars, Seeds Of Arkham)
2. Jim Caviezel (Person Of Interest)
3. Karl Urban (Dredd)
4. Jon Hamm (Mad Men)

I think who ever they end up choosing WB will want to spin him off into a Batman Beyond film where he will end up playing an even older Bruce Wayne.
