Is This Our First Look at Bane in The Dark Knight Rises?

Could this early Bane concept art tell us what Bane will look like in The Dark Knight Rises?

I found the following concept art months ago and have not posted it up until now because it would have been pure speculation that Bane would even appear in the The Dark Knight Rises. Now that Tom Hardy has been confirmed to be portraying Bane in the film, it becomes a disticnt possibility that this could be the concept art Christopher Nolan has chosen to bring the character to life on film.

These images were posted on CONCEPTART.org back in Oct. by Humza Khan and he had this to say concerning the images over the course of three separate posts.

These are some concepts that I have done to get onto the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight sequel / Batman 3 team.

I posted these to promote myself because I am still trying to get on to the project. These are posted here to help get as much exposure as possible and to help get hired.

My design of Bane is closest to the comics, especially the Knightfall story arc.

This version of the character was born and grew up in prison to pay for his father's crime, committed his first murder at age 8, and was a vicious fighter who was a pretty big guy before he was injected with venom.

In the comics, instead of attacking Batman head on, he realizes Batman too smart for that. So instead, he attacks Arkham Asylum and releases the inmates. This forces Batman to spend 3 months hunting them all down until he becomes exhausted and sleep deprived. Only then does Bane break into Wayne more and breaks Batman's back, paralyzing him instead of killing him for the sole fact that he wants him to live in shame and defeat.

In my character design, Bane's biggest threat is his tactical machiavellian mind over his sheer size and enhanced strength. The design of suit is suppose is drawn from the comics but with some adjustments taken from swat and military armor to have it designed for close quarter urban combat.

Hawksblueyes: What do you think. Is this what Bane will look like in The Dark Knight Rises? Would you be happy if this is how he appeared on film?

This doesn't look like Bane to me. This looks like some Spec Ops or something like that. I like the way Bane looked in Arkham Asylum.

The artist is only getting his name out there, I'm pretty sure Nolan has something 10X better planned for Bane

If you read what the artist himself states, "These are some concepts that I have done to get onto the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight sequel / Batman 3 team.
I posted these to promote myself because I am still trying to get on to the project. These are posted here to help get as much exposure as possible and to help get hired." It says they have not been hired, so don't get your hopes up.

Meh. They make him like military guy, not supervillain. Bane is one of the characters who must have powers.

Bane is a perfect way to end the series and I've been hoping for him in Nolans series . He was butchered in B&R.

Kinda bummed since hes not Latino, tho. I think the new interpenetration is gonna be that Bane is a new ruthless vigilante like Bats and he wants prove himself, like in the comics, by defeating bats.

Hmm...interesting find HAWKS. I've got an odd feeling that I've seen this image and its authenticity questioned in the past, but I'm not sure about that. We see so much stuff, I'm probably thinking about something else entirely, lol! Regardless, if this is the real deal, I think it will look a lot better in live action. This is Christopher Nolan we're talking about, not Fox!

yuck. i'm guessing he didn't get the job?

i mean, this isn't concept art commissioned by WB, this is someone's well thought of and questionably executed resume so to speak, right? either way, i'm assuming Nolan would have him look more s.w.a.t. and less luchador

Josh: I have posted it in the comments section on an article, I don't remember which one. I have searched all the way back to Oct 12 of last year (when he originally posted this to CONCEPTART.org.) through our Batman posts and can find nothing on it.

You may be right but I sure can't find anything on this site.

That rendering looks less like Bane and more like the "Lock-Up" character from the animated series. I still don't see how Bane translates into the Nolan-verse, but he hasn't missed yet. Now we wait......

Oh, you're right about it never having been on CBM before HAWKS - I've probably just seen something similar on a forum or something! :)

DO you all think that the Prey/Strange thing was misinformation or do you think casting has just begun for TDKR?
