JOKER Lands A Hard R-Rating For "Disturbing Behavior," Sexual Content, And More; Check Out A New Still
As expected, Todd Phillips' upcoming Joker movie will be Rated-R, but the reasons for that may come as something of a surprise. Find out more details on that along with a brand new still after the jump...
As expected,
Joker has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America. According to the movie's official website, the Clown Prince of Crime's first solo movie will feature,
"Strong Bloody Violence, Disturbing Behavior, Language and Brief Sexual Images."
Honestly, most of that was to be expected after those plot leaks, and we've been hearing for a long time that Joker will be aimed at a much older audience than your typical superhero movie. "Disturbing Behaviour" is normally reserved for particularly sinister or creepy content, so expect to see Joaquin Phoenix's Clown Prince of Crime getting up to some seriously weird sh*t!
In related news, a new official image from the DC Comics adaptation has been released, and as you can see, it offers a great look at the villain. What he's up to is hard to say, but it's pretty obvious that Phoenix will spend quite a bit of time in the makeup based on what we've seen so far.
Remember, a new trailer is expected to be released at the end of the month so stay tuned for that.
How do you guys feel about an R-Rated
Joker?
